It’s hard to capture on camera, but there’s a bit of an ombré effect with the tips being darker than the cuticle end

I am 60+ and have finally decided to take care of ME this year and my nails are my first step in that process. Thanks so much for posting your insight, honesty and tutorials.

I only use these magic press nails now. I use the base shield and it works very well with longevity and having no damage to my natural nails.They last for about a week. They look like salon manicure nails.

Magicpress is my favorite press on! Do you let the shield dry before applying the nails? I’ve never used the base shield

What are your thoughts on adding extra liquid nail glue for longevity? I watched another person apply press ons and they added additional glue to the adhesive. 🤷🏻‍♀️ great video and great tips!

I don’t see the need for that, only a way to complicate a simple process. I also wouldn’t want press ons for longer than a week necessarily either.

Yes I’ve been pondering those. For a while they were only sold at ulta and Sally’s but now they are on the DD website too. I have a few other brands I’m making myself work through before I buy more things. But it’s def on my radar

Btw, I use KISS plain fake nails and I place the diva stickers on them. Stay really well and the nails last about a week.

Didn’t file them. What I did in the video is literally all I did - very simple.

Thanks for more advice! I bought a few pairs on sale but haven't used them yet. I'm waiting until I break a fingernail that can't be repaired.

@@kbeautyhobbit LOL! I could probably wear medium, but I worry about if I didn't cut my length off there would be a gap with no glue yet still fingernail underneath. And I have a toddler so I change a lot of diapers, and I definitely wouldn't want any of THAT getting stuck between my nails and the press ons. 🤢 I think if I had no free edge on my natural nails underneath I would be fine though.

The sizes (width) in each magicpress set are the same. The lengths differ between short, medium and long. I prefer short, which is what’s shown in the video. Your length preference would depend on what you like.

Your KZreads are excellent regarding the DD nails and have helped me be really successful. I am having trouble with the MagicPress staying on. I try to trim the nails if they're too wide, as you suggested. But, still having issues...any additional help? thanks so much.

Applying before bed (to have them be on overnight before any water exposure) can help too.

Your KZreads are fabulous and I appreciate all your help. I find my thumb and middle finger fall off more than any other nails. They are narrow at the base and quite a bit wider at the tip, so i trim them....not sure if i don't trim them enough or something else is going on.

I’ve seen some people use nail glue in addition to the adhesive that comes with magicpress. Perhaps that’s the secret sauce for those two troubled fingers. If you go the glue round, I recommend a brush on vs a squeeze tube. I have the kiss brand but there are probably other good ones. This is the one I have: amzn.to/3MLZIKB (affiliate link)

I've had some trouble with the green water mold growing under my Magic Press. I brush Kiss Glue on to help them last longer. I follow your ideas of application so they have time to adhere fully without being in water. So, first question is...have you had this problem and do you have any ideas on what might be the cause? Second question is how long should i wait AFTER my shower before applying? Thanks!@

I have never had an issue with mold. I actually just learned that it’s even possible earlier this year (new fear unlocked). I usually wait at least an hour or so after my evening bath to do them and I try to limit how much my fingers are in the water during that bath. I keep my hands out of the water while I soak. I’ve seen people recommend prepping with acetone to fully dehydrate the nail. Or even use a nail dehydrator. My last suggestion would be to not keep them on this long. With using kiss glue, how long are you keeping these on? The longer the more risk of water related issues.

I'm not waiting that long after my shower...more like 20 to 30 minutes. That may be an issue. I'm shooting for two weeks wear time. I would love for them to successfully last this long...sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. They actually still look really good, but tend to pull off at the cuticle. Makes sense the longer they're on, the more risk of possible issues. Does wearing gloves when doing dishes help? You're really a great help. thank you!

@user-dh4cx4if3b the brand says to wear them up to 7 days. Two weeks is way too long. If you want to keep nails on that long, I’d go for one of the other products like the gloss or glaze or ohora strips. But I’m not a licensed tech nor a medical professional. I don’t think gloves will help since you are still washing hands and bathing and having regular exposure to water.

Do you ever have issues with hair catching with the Dashing Diva Magic Press? I love the designs and the ease of application so have been eyeing them.

No, no issues with hair catching. Only maybe toward the end of their life, 7-8 days after application. At that point it’s time to take them off.

Oh that’s way too early!! I’m guessing either the press ons weren’t quite the right size oooooor possibly they are just not the right shape for your nail. My nailbeds are pretty flat, but maybe someone with curved nails would not have as good of an adhesion. Hopefully next time is better!

My hair catches all the time on them. I am thinking about glueing the edges down to seal them better. The nails are the right size for my nailbeds but they just don't seal well around the edges. It's very disappointing because I love how they look!

@monicab28 I’ve seen several people talk about using glue in addition to the already provided sticky tabs. Worth a try. I suggest getting brush on glue vs the little squeeze tubes.

They are quick and easy to apply but for me they never last more than 5 days. Usually just one nail comes off first and then all down hill from there.

I guess five days isn’t the worst but I’d probably be upset. Which nail comes off first? The index finger? Do you use your hands “as tools” a lot? And which length do you usually buy?

@@kbeautyhobbit it’s always a random finger! I am super careful with these nails when they are on. But I still do the dishes and other housework. That is probably why they don’t stay on.

Have you tried the base seal DD makes? I tried it and the magic press for the first time and my nails started popping off after two days.
