I'd be more interested in learning about when he was younger. Who taught him, his equipment availability, his inspirations, that sort of thing. I'd love to know the journey he has been on through his drumming life that has ultimately brought him to this point today of having the weirdest setup I have ever seen!

@@MCB-ls6nw Yes but not really different than setting-up any other kit when you're a tech. You don't have to play in it and you can bet all those angles are locked in. It's far less hardcore than a lot of metal kits actually

I give drum techs mad respect because not every stage / drum riser / floor etc. Is not the same. So for them to put up with the different variations and variables to get the drums exactly where the DIC (drummer in charge) wants them with zero complaints takes talent and is a job in itself. I've been drumming for 32 years and I still don't know where or how I want my kit set up. 😂

I saw jack in Nashville this April. That man is my guitar god, the reason I picked up a guitar 18 years ago. And I still found my eyes fixed on Daru. Dude was an animal. The whole band was flawless for hours.

@@Mike_Webb78 my guitar god. The guitarist I wanted to be. I'm not even sure what you compelled to type your comment. Jack may not the the most technical or progressive. But how many guitarists do you think inspired more kids to pick up an axe in the early 2000s than jack white? Seriously. If you're putting jack down to make yourself feel better as a guitar player, you should really evaluate why you're doing that. Otherwise, just keep your holier than thou guitar comments to yourself dude.

This is definitely , completely , a unique drum set up. Not that I personally love all of the choices, but definitely cool and would make me hav to think very differently about my approach to playing, technique, and ideas while using a set up like this! I am a traditional grip dude myself, but even how he plays the hihat groove at the end with the traditional grip is really cool! Thanks!

Old jazz and bigband drummers had their snaredrum always tilted away from them. It's the easiest way to play the snare if you're playing with traditional grip. So it's actually quite traditional. But then again, off course he wants to gets noticed, and this is cool and unique. And his playing rhymes with that.
