Phil, I have always enjoyed your interviews but in all aspects.. this has been your best all-around interview. I was a fan of Noa-Lynn before this interview because I tend to cheer for people who show a likable personality, has overcome some unique challenge(s), shows courage in how they play and obviously shows enough skill to have success. Though the challenges are each different... Noa-Lynn, Fallon and Beau check all those boxes and that's why I cheer for them as much as I do. All the very best Noa-Lynn. Can't wait to see you walk down the isle at Ally-Pally and beyond.

Great interview Phil, appreciate you tackling the more sensitive topics. Noa-Lynn seems respectful and honest, dealing with all this like a champ too. I don't care what side of the fence someone is on the topic, imagine just wanting to play darts and go about your life. Just think about it for a minute...

The twitter posts from female darts players about this person were disgusting. Sure, pull out of events if you object to playing against a trans woman or having a trans woman as a team mate...... but keep your objections private. No need to make a huge fuss on twitter, making this person sound like a villain from a Marvel movie.

I’m an Aussie- and a massage fan of darts. Of the Modus, PDC, WDF, ADC, etc etc. Of darts players (local and oversees/ pro’s and amateurs). I’m a fan of all the great players- and if they are good people.. even more so. Personally- I do not support male born humans (transgender females) playing in the women’s series of darts. And I’ve lost interest in that particular competition because they allow it now. (Just my opinion). And I was really starting to enjoy it. However- I do think Noa-Lynn is a nice person, a cracking darts player and I wish Noa-Lynn all the success in every other tournament or darting venture (open tournaments or competitions). 👍 This was a great interview and was nice to hear Noa-Lynn’s story.

That is a very balanced and well written post Chris. I will support Noa till the cows come home in any tournament other than female tournaments. But even then, I wouldn't throw hate at Noa because it isn't Noa's fault. Its down to the governing bodies to sort it out. We need to protect and support female only sport or we/they will lose it. The thing is Chris, we already have the answer...open category where anyone can compete, and female only where only females can compete. It seems so simple but yet it has become so complicated and divisive. As I said Chris, the governing bodies need to sort it out...peace to ya bro.

If we look at all areas of life, there are always people who will heap hate on people who are in some way fundamentally different to them, in a way they perceive as threatening to their views of the world. Diversity exists. Some folks just can't handle it and heap a lot of hate and condemnation on it. I hope Noa-Lynn learns not to take those people's views to heart. They don't represent all of us. I'm not trans myself, but it doesn't mean I can't be sympathetic and understanding to the strong feeling that her biological gender didn't match with her core gender identity. It's insane how difficulty we make it for people to belong.

Probably money. Women players wouldn't have access to the better prize money through their own series, so giving them access to those male competitions gives them an opportunity to gain access to that potential funding. The alternative is completely open competitions and series, such as the Modus Series. But historically we are sort of in between.

I think of it this way... there is pretty near 0 chance a person would change gender purely to pursue easier competition in sport. Especislly a sport like darts where the average viewer is maybe more likely to be anti transgender than maybe other sports. And for me, that is the only argument that can be made against Noa-lynn competing in the womens game. Because physically, darts is not a sport that men should have any physical advantage in. So the only way there are ethical, or moral issues, is if a person were to change gender specifically to make a career and to fight easier competition... is somebody realistically going to do that. The chances aren't 0 but I think close to... and in this case surely are 0. But this kind of thing is why I also make an argument in non physical sport and competition... I'm talking darts, chess, precision and mental sport and competition for there to be no mens and womens separation... encourage all women to match the level of men and not be content in their own, lower level competitions. Long-term the gap will close. And close faster than giving the escape of watered down level womens only competitions to block that ceiling being broken. I want to see female darts and chess, snooker.. open World champions. And merging the competition would speed that up. Then no gender debate either. Be whoever you want.
