I came back to the video after quite awhile because I was thinking about David Harbour's energy. It's fascinating to me to see the comments below because my perspective is diametrically opposed. For me the depth of discourse is driven by David and Maggie. He challenges her to stop deflecting. Then all of a sudden things go down to a much deeper level. Then, "in the spirit of camaraderie," he discusses challenges in what strikes me as a completely no-bullshit way -- that this role forced him to encounter his own jaded entitlement and arrogance. To couch Maggie and David's discussion of insights that came after 35 as jealousy is to be clueless about what it is to grow older. Deeply, deeply clueless. Perhaps my bias is toward uncomfortable people who speak uncomfortable truths boldly and with a certain flair. The young folk have remarkable gifts. There are advantages that youth bestows, of course. By the same token, there is no substitute for the perspective that comes with time coupled with the willingness and confidence to speak plainly about those hard-won insights. Kudos to the bipolar in the room. The facilitator seemed kind and clear -- and a little out of her depth. She had the wisdom to stay out of the way. And, that's a tough job. I hope she gets a chance to hone her craft. I dug her vibe.
