December 2023; It's depressingas an adult to realize how much has changed. I can relate to the lyrics, not alone but always a child at heart ❤. This brings me to tears. I think back in her time, during her prime, it would've been blasphemous to refer to anyone as the "Queen of Christmas", because that would be the Virgin Mary if anyone, and of course the Prince/King of Christmas is Jesus. Nowadays people couldn't give a shit about religion so "Queen of Xmas" is okay for Mariah.

It is wierd that she wrote two of the best Christmas songs ever and barely got noticed - at the time I guess home alone 2 was considered too over the top and an inferior sequal so no one really re watched it, but now there are tons of far crappier home alone movies it now ranks a solid number 2 in the franchise and people have realised it had this great song attached.

Something about seeing New York scenary from the 90s ❤ maybe it's this movie, the towers were still standing, the Knicks were the toast of the city. Perhaps just a better time.

Growing up in the 80's and 90's was so incredible. Movies and music these days just doesn't sound the same as they did back then , maybe it's just me , I don't really know. Im 20. When listening to this i remember back when i was a little kid and i realize something is different. Back then, christmas and New Years Eve had something so special. The world was so great, so quiet, so safe in my little mind. I woke up on Christmas and it felt so amazing. I ran to my parents and went crazy when i saw the presents, the tree, the snow. Everything. Now its just like "oh, right, its Christmas". I kinda miss that feeling. Anyone with me?
