Lyrics
Hearts gone astray, leaving hurt when they go
I went away, just when you, you need me so
You won't regret, I come back beggin' you
Won't you forget, welcome love we once knew
Open up your eyes then you realize, here I stand with my everlasting love
Need you by my side, girl to be my bride
You'll never be denied, everlasting love
From the very start, open up your heart
Be a lasting part of everlasting love
Need a love to last forever
Need a love to last forever
Where life's river flows, no one really knows 'til someone's there to show the way to lasting love
Like the sun that shines, endlessly it shines
You always will be mine, it's eternal love
When ever love went wrong, ours would still be strong
We'll have our very own everlasting love
Need a love to last forever
Need a love to last forever
Open up your eyes then you realize, here I stand with my everlasting love
Need you by my side, girl to be my bride (Need a love to last forever)
You'll never be denied, everlasting love (Need a love to last forever)
From the very start, open up your heart (Need a love to last forever)
Be a lasting part of everlasting love (Need a love to last forever)
When ever love went wrong, ours would still be strong (Need a love to last forever)
We'll have our very own everlasting love (Need a love to last forever)

No they didn't. Lol. The Beatles 'Hello Goodbye' had been at number 1 for 2 months, and finally slid down with 'the Ballad Of Bonnie and Clyde' by Georgie Fame replacing them at number 1. 'Everlasting Love' bumped Georgie Fame off the top spot the week after that, not the Beatles.

this is fantastic, i am 63 and living a fantastic life, anyone out there that feels the same,
Its strange how we think when we are young and listening to these guys that we will never get old. Warning to all young people listening to this and the sixties music, it creeps up on you without you realizing. My message to you is to try your best to be happy and find a good partner who can share your life.

Oh Gosh! So wise, and true! I was a kid in the early '70's,. We felt like we would soon be in charge, and would make things better. Now I'm in my early '60's, I've lost so many friends and Family. Life kinda slaps one into reality, we can't change the world. Just little parts of it.

I'm here because 1969 in Belfast was my childhood. I'm the same age as Ken and lived about 6 streets away from where he lived. This movie means so much to me. It's my childhood wonderful but terrifying at the same time. I remember this song as a child and reminds me of my childhood years, in the streets of Belfast. To be honest the sense of community back then was second to none. We all looked out for each other. That's gone now. No more sense of community. It definitely takes a village (community) to raise a child. Well done Ken and all the cast of Movie Belfast.

Wow just wow
My all time favourite song. I was 20 when Steve was 18, I’ve always loved his performance in the song. I’m at an age now that I hate seeing people in pictures and videos showing them young when I was young. All of us who were around at that time are old now and our time is almost up, for many it is. Our era was so good compared to today. I feel sorry for our kids and their kids, there is so much more shit going on in the world today. I miss our time in the 70s and wish I could live it again, knowing what I know now. There’s a quote I try to live by now, “To have no regrets tomorrow - be wise today” I wish I could be in that time forever. The stunning girl dancing was Susan Matthews, I wonder where she is now- does anyone know? The chaplinesque dancer is Delores Schmidinger - famous at the time in her native Holland. It's such a shame that we don't write and record songs like that anymore. It is so good and brings back so many good memories of my youth. For me, the sad thing about the video is that everyone was so young, and at that time so was I. I'm a really good 75 years old now and my wife of 50 years at 70 is just as good. A person below said to all the youth, "enjoy life - like we did - while you are young", from personal experience he is so right. Turning 50 was ok, turning 60 wasn't well accepted, suddenly after that 60th birthday, time sped up and suddenly I was 75, shit I think it happened when I blinked. Appreciate every minute of your youth because life is like a toilet roll, it runs out faster at the end - it's so sad that everyone in that video is old now, maybe some are dead. Still a great song
