Darkwing Duck (NES) Playthrough
Ойындар
A playthrough of Capcom's 1992 license-based action game for the NES, Disney's Darkwing Duck.
Led by Steelbeak, the crime syndicate F.O.W.L., The Fiendish Organization for World Larceny, has struck once again! A group of supervillains has descended upon the city of St. Canard, and you know what that means...
"I am the terror that flaps in the night. I am the winged scourge that pecks at your nightmares. I am Darkwing Duck!"
Darkwing Duck was one of Capcom's beloved Disney-based NES games, and despite being released in the summer of 1992 as the Super Nintendo was beginning to pick up steam, it was quite popular. It received extremely favorable reviews in the popular gaming magazines, and it took the cover of the May 1992 issue of Nintendo Power, which is all the more impressive when you consider that Contra III was covered in the same issue!
The game is a Mega Man-style run-and-gun platformer. Darkwing carries a gas gun that can be outfitted with adapters: the heavy gas travels along the ground in both directions, the thunder gas sends bolts of electricity flying at 45 degree angles, and the arrow gas can create platforms to provide access to hard-to-reach areas. But unlike the Blue Bomber, Darkwing can also block enemy fire by raising his cape as a shield, and he can grab on to ledges and background fixtures to give him an extra boost in maneuverability. Though it's similar to Mega Man in several ways, the fresh coat of paint and new abilities make Darkwing Duck feel distinctly like its own game instead of a clone.
The controls are smooth, the challenge is stiff without being overwhelming, the moody graphics are excellent, and the soundtrack is loaded with jazzy earworms that'll keep you tapping your toe the entire time. Darkwing Duck is a quality game, and it was one of the best NES releases to hit stores in 1992.
Let's get dangerous!

It's always the little details with games that give them style. I love his intro animation where he lifts his cape! I remember enjoying this show as a kid in the 90s. Capcom really released so many great licensed Disney games back then. How times have changed for both companies...
Another wonderful classic from the Disney Capcom collaboration
You don't need enormous digital power to create a masterpiece. All you need is 8 bits, 16 kilobytes of memory and a little inspiration.

I’m getting my ass kicked by nostalgia !!!! The memories 😢
Darkwing Duck was underrated as hell. Wish this game got a remake or something too.

Apparently WayForward wanted to after the DuckTales remake. They built a playable proof of concept, but the idea was shot down.

@@xpdev0hey now, monster hunter helped saved capcom and monster hunter games are great. monster hunter and resident evil gives the company enough enough money to do new other stuff like rockman games. street fighter kinda helps but not nearly as much.
Such a great game! Wish it was longer.
I was all about this franchise when I was a kid. Cartoon, toys. Even made a custom Halloween costume on the sewing machine with Mom's help.
Darkwing Duck deserves a remake like the one wayforward made about Ducktales. Hours well spent in my childhood playing this game. Off topic: loved what they showed about Darkwing in the lastest Ducktales show.
"Let's get dangerous!" I saw some episodes of DARKWING DUCK as a little kid back in the early 1990's. I also had this game for my NES. The game looked at first easy, but then, it got harder and harder 😹. I also finished it so many times 😹👍🕹️. DARKWING DUCK is not a bad Disney game, but DUCKTALES is definitely the best, i have ever played from Capcom. 😺👍🕹️
While my personal favorite Disney platformer on NES was Chip and Dale 2, this is pretty solid as well, especially the catchy music.
You could always count on Nintendo to bring most every cartoon show to the NES, and this one is one of the greats.
Amazing Music😊
One of the harder Disney games Capcom put out, this one strikes me as a game that is good now, but with a bit more polish, could have been legendary.
I had the pleasure of playing this beautiful game in 1993...
42:16 How I adored this moment to tears❤❤❤❤❤❤
And another one childhood game. Right after the Tale Spin. Thank you so much for the upload. Good job as everytime!
LOL The best ending screen! The angsty Mega Man like ending subverted by the classic Darkwing slapstick. Thanks for playing!
Sweet I couldn’t beat this game. Now I get to see
Damn the memories. Couldn't finish it during my childhood, only in emulator once i got a pc. I remember the enemy respawn being pretty much the only issue i had with this game.
This is one rockin' game for NES, a dynamite soundtrack, a good challenge, crisp and cartoony graphics... Captures the show's look and feel to a T! (FYI, I played it on the Disney Afternoon Collection) Sidenote: I got to meet the voice of the Terror That Flaps in the Night at Comic Con earlier this year... Jim Cummings is a blast to listen to! I even got his autograph on my Nintendo Power Issue that featured the Darkwing Duck game!
Era um dos jogos favoritos da minha infância!!!
Darkwing Duck for the Nintendo Entertainment System is based on the Disney animated TV series Darkwing Duck in syndication as part of the syndicated program block The Disney Afternoon/ABC in the early 90's.
I played this one wayyyyy too much as a kid. Loved the show, & really loved the game. Fun fact: this game uses a (slightly) modified version of the MM5 engine.

No kidding? I had no idea, but I believe it. It feels too similar to be just a coincidence.
One of the best nes soundtracks of all time… Megaman 3 was also fire
I couldn't pick favorites back then. You had Animaniacs, a single grand slam, but then you had innumerable hits, base, triple and more, from the Disney line-up. Darkwing Duck was one of the coolest. It had as much pulp vibe as the previous cartoons except it lampooned The Shadow. Not that throwing barbs at The Shadow is deserved, but Darkwing Duck made it fun. Ignore Mike Matei. Any show that makes the main character become a polite tea servant for an episode and still make you laugh should come back and teach the posers today on how to sing the blues.
This was my favorite Disney game to play in the NES back in the day. Had some trouble facing Steelbeak but after trying different attacks, figured out how to beat him. Professor Mole was a challenge but found out how to beat him. Don’t know how to spell his name but eh whatever.
Capcom does it again!
Yooooooooo, this is one of my favorites!
Thanks! Timeless!
I remember being a kid in 1992 wanting this game bad but I never got it or played it I always choose some bigger game at the time but I should of choose this game it looks like a fun game wish I had got it back then 👍🏿
Um dos jogos que já zerei E adoro
I didn't know about those bonus stages
Let's get dangerous!!
Jim Cummings as darkwing duck/negaduck darkwing's evil doppelganger
Loved this game as a kid...but rewatching it now, this seems like such a megaman copy 😅
Legit! I didnt know about most of those bonus stages
They definitely should've made SNES and Genesis versions of this game. I would've loved to play it on Sega Genesis.
Disney afternoon

Good video.
Could never get through Megavolt's level when I played this as a kid. Way too many pits and flying carpet guys and genies eager to knock you in. Disheartening to see that Megs himself is cake to deal with. At least the music was catchy.
