So in our custom D20 System campaign, our final battle was for the possession of an ancient and powerful artifact that reacts randomly to magic being used for destruction around it (which was inevitable in the battle against the boss). So what the DM came with was the artifact teleporting us and the boss every 3 turns in all the major places we visited during that 5-year long campaign (cities, landmarks, dungeons, etc). This pretty much felt like playing in the Farmstead as the boss could raise the dead, take control of local minions, etc. This meant that when teleported to a formerly visited dungeon, we would end up fighting resurrected versions of mobs we had previously killed (and in several instances, former party members or pets that died in these dungeons). In cities, the boss would "zombify" the surrounding guards and local populace, much like the poor workers there. That song made the fight twice as intense.

Amazing. And strangely hopeful. Most Darkest Dungeon music just oozes hopelessness, but this one for me is much more heroic. That's something I'd expect to play while heroes are running from a giant explosion or something.

I always envisioned a tooth and nail fight where everything hangs in the balance. The heroes will suffer, they may even die, but they are ready to do so for each other and for their cause. All things must come.

Imo acting in the face of hopelessness is the purest kind of heroism. This is described beautiful in this song with its monotonious beat fitting perfectly to an endless battle like in color of madness

Honestly it's a kind of a shame. The music team clearly worked their goddamn hearts out to make multiple different amazing tracks for the DLC. This song in particular seems less horrific and more... sad? Hopeful isn't a bad interpretation either, but to me it kind of felt more like one of those final boss tracks in the Soulsbourne series that are all like "Here's a tired old man for you to put out of his misery, seeing as killing is all you're good for". And all of them except for the base theme were used for fighting the exact same fucking cannon fodder you've been killing for the entire game. Such a waste.

Arrived at the place where time has no meaning. Even death cannot take lives in the farmstead permanently. The comet's power is beyond everything. Resisting is heroic.....but also meaningless.

Unlike every other area in the game, death isn't permanent in the Farmstead. Heroes that die will only be lost in time and space, and will come back after a week or two. HOWEVER, they will lose their trinkets, and they will always be refracted. A party wipe causes you to lose everything you've gotten during the run.

I know what that’s like. Half a year ago my girlfriend of many years broke up with me. For a long while I didn’t know what I’d do, sometimes I still don’t. One person said by that point it’s practically like experiencing a divorce. That honestly helped to hear. Sometimes it’s nice to know your feelings of pain are validated and not swept under the rug. That is to say, it’s okay to feel pain, for however long it takes, just remember to live while you’re doing it ; ) good luck and I hope you’re feeling better by now.
