agree! SC2 are developing into a higher level. It is already so much better than the time it was first released. brood war is definitely a masterpiece. I hope SC2 can get the same level, even higher !

Gota be honest... I thought the heyday of sc2 competitive play was vanilla and first expansion. After the 2nd expansion regular ladder play kinda died out a bit, for me ... last time I was a master player was on the first (zerg expo)...

watching this in July 2017 - it's terrifying remembering that tanks could transported in siege mode.

Being a Zerg fan I was cheering for Dark.... But I dont think a better person could have won. Seeing ByuN play so well. And even more, ByuN at the end, signing autographs and taking photos. Here he just won Blizzcon, and yet he still takes the time to be with the fans. He deserves this win.

I normally root for the Zerg, but ByuN is just so incredibly good. I've never seen micro like that from any other player.

He reminds me of lilbow(but better ofc), only make cheesy/all ins strats and have such a good micro that he still wins or deal enough dmg to get ahead despite his strat. His micro is insane and impressive but tbh I prefer players like Dark who also have great multitask and macro skills, and can play every kind of strategies. I find players with various styles much more interesting to watch that someone having such a good micro that his bane focus make the fight imba, because game can't be balanced expecting people having such insane micro so banes are not supposed to get rekt like this. A totally deserved win by Byun, who won a gsl teamless, even if no real need of team strategic advices when you rely mostly on micro, but it's not the kind of games I like to watch. I also fear for him that a drastic change in playstyle due to updates just destroy his career (as lotv for lilbow), so gl to him in the future.

@@guillaumeduchamp989 His micro isn't imba, the zerg can be better with the positioning and strategy of his banelings. Attack from multiple directions and setup traps. Byun is simply better and comparing lilbow to Byun is extremely disrespectful. Especially considering that Lilbow plays Protoss.

The best STARCRAFT 2 WCS GLOBAL FINALS ever.. I miss this year.

No one else can impose such a non-stop attacking pressure on Dark. ByuN is the essence of Terran.

absolutely amazing games. Byun is such a likable person. TvZ is an awesome match up, seems to produce the most highlights.

Man this is like a fricken time capsule of simpler days. I miss these x_x

I come back to this because I love ByuN so much. The fact that hes not teamed and he is so good and humble just makes him a likeable person. On a side note, ByuN is so good that he forced blizzard to nerf reapers THREE times in one year because ByuN was doing things no one thought possible with them.

Game 4, we thought he is going hellbat, dark saw the armory thought he was going to go hellbat, the commentator kept talking about early armory and hellbat for like a min... Then ByuN goes like, lol you fools, I am just going to run in with hellions and kill 20+ drones...

Amazing finale! So intense and fun to watch. Excellent work on both sides.

I can’t believe this was almost five years ago. It seems like so much longer ago to me, I think because so many storylines in the SC2 world have played out since this.

Game 4... I love StarCraft 2 for games like that... Just beautiful!

Game 5 is so amazing, was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Byun has such a fun personality. In a game where most players tend towards super-serial, it's always fun to see interviews with him.

Came to this after PiG mentioned it in a Byun v Dark cast. This was AWESOME! Also, sieged tanks in Medivacs are pretty OP.

nah it's so fake and forced. Not really fun to listen to every time a worker dies.

These two players epitomize the concepts of Macro play vs Micro play, respectively; they are just so good, that game 5 was phenomenal.

Great final! Both players are awesome, it was back and forth. And the saga of an "outsider" continues on :D

You know, I'm always impressed with the skills of the announcers of these matches because to announce any sort of competitive sport, you not only have to have good vocal skills, but you must be truly knowledgeable about the sport. Their talent level is surprising given how small eGaming is compared to say, soccer or American football.
