i think the black dagger was removed just because black knights and their weapons were big for the exact purpose to battle huge demons, a dagger would not have much reason to exist in this context

Well to be honest it wouldn't been in line with other weapon designs. It looks way out of place and that's probably the reason they didn't include it in the game. It looks still cool though. Four Kings in general do look great. Definitely one of my favorite boss designs. It's such a shame the fight itself is just a dps race.

The Four Kings sword looks like a part of a broken window.

I see some saying the spikey pole is from Berserk/Berserk reference. While it would have likely been added as such (like Artorias) it is actually a real weapon. It's called the mancatcher and would be use to catch people by grabbing their neck. The Kuo Toa from D&D also use it.

The Chinese government was just recently using modern versions of it to contain people in the "quarenteen zones". They looked like they used springs instead of spikes

I'm not so sure but i think i saw the model for the black zweihander with a rusted texture at Artorias's grave, where all the swords are sticked in the ground in his honor or whatever. I can't remember to be honest, ill' check it out later to make sure.

Just confirmed. its a different design for the Black Zweihander and the regular one. Different: handguard, handle, blade horns (lugs) and such and such. Pretty cool that they left it in the game but still, would have been nice to see an Ultra-Greatsword that's shorter but has less weight consumption. Forgot to mention that the model for the Black Zweihander is at artorias's grave for sure.

Four king's sword looks more like a curved greatsword than a straight sword

If you look closely at some of the swords near Artorias's grave, where you fight Sif, you can see that they're all models of actual swords in game. But, I couldn't identify one of the models until seeing this video--one of theme is the black zweihander. Also worth pointing out, the "spicky catch pole" appears to be heavily based off of a weapon used by one of Mozgus's torturers (from Berserk).

Black Dagger: Seems like it would've been used by the longsword black knight in the left hand as a parrying weapon, i'm guessing they thought giving the black knight the ability to parry would be a little OP. The Four Kings Sword: Most likely removed because you need the four king's soul to put in the lordvessle so why the hell would you turn it into a weapon? Black Zweihander: I can't actually see any particular reason why this would've been removed, but my guess is that while the black Zweihander has the similar proportions to an actual Zweihander whilst the regular one does not, it was probably removed to avoid confusion since the Black Zweihander is similar to a greatsword more than the in game Zweihander. The Spikey Catch Pole: My guess is that they made the weapon before designing the area in would be in or the character it would be used by, it seems very different for the world of Dark Souls, seems like a weapon you'd see in the environments of the sequels though (especially 3). Or maybe it was used by the flying demons in anor londo, seems like something they would use. The Torch: was most likely made before they came up with the idea of the necromancer, i'm glad they made the change, really shows how different dark souls is compared to other RPG's "whats that you've got a torch? Well we've got a motherfucking FLAMING SKULL!" The Blowpipe: WAAAAYYY TOOO OP, especially for multiplayer, a player usable item that can inflict toxic with one shot? Definitely not okay. Not even fromsoft is that sadistic. Gwynevere's talisman: Wouldn't make sense for her to have a talisman since she technically (spoilers for a six year old game) she isn't in anor londo.

The "dragon talisman" looks like the doll than you need to enter in irithyll in ds3

The Black Dagger seems to be a sort of ceremonial dagger or something, but that's just be. Nice demonstration of the unused weapons, Crestfallen! Also, HOLY COW that torch is a wasp! XD Dragon's Talisman??? O_o A curious name for a stone used by Gwinevere, don't you think? Do you think that reinforces the theory that Gwinevere and Seith might've done *you know what* and generated Priscilla?

I think there would be a dragon talysman not related to Gwynevere, and that Gwynevere talysman would be the Ivory talisman(that have a piece of her clothes) but for some reason they scrapped both together. Dragon Talisman sounds more like a name than a description. It remembers me of a talisman in demon's souls that's a shell, that can do both miracles and sorceries, I think this dragon talisman would be something like that.

After releasing AoA for DaS3 im realise that the black dagger can be used as a prototype for Valorheart. Looks pretty much similar, maybe a little bit longer.

sad that the blowpipe never got added, imagine it having an innate toxic or at least poison buildup on every projectile. God i woulda loved to do an entire blowpipe only run

Hey i know i'm really late to tell you this,but that is an actual thing that existed,tho he could have seen it at berserk and thought"hey that looks cool".

i remember i had done a similar thing and used the titanite catchpole with no problem. maybe you had the wrong ID? also, instead of using the lantern as a base for the torch i had used quelaag's furysword for the fire effect. in retrospect, a mace or morning star buffed with fire would be better edit: forgot to mention that the dagger reminds me of the darksword. and a fun fact about the darksword: the blue lines that are visible in sif's version of arty's GS are actually part of the darksword's textures

zerf sefo My recollection from the lore was that Gwynevere and Seath got together and made Priscilla (who was then abandoned/banished away): my assumption was that this talisman would commemorate this relationship, except for the fact that Seath is scaleless. Clearly, that isn't really the case, but that's how I initially perceived it. EDIT (The cloth would be from Gwynevere's clothes)

Shiva was probably gonna main the Black Zweihander and the BZ was gonna be something special about it such as dark damage, or a different moveset but got scrapped. And they were probably gonna give Chester it but finally decide to axe the BZ for good.

I don't plan on doing it. The videos of ds3 will be mostly just showing the place and there isn't much to explore on ds2 levels.

I know this is a late statement, but i'm almost certain that DSMODT didn't map the model of the unused torch properly. Swapping the value for the model of a weapon in-game with the model for the torch places it accurately. I assume this is a user error. There's DSMODT, and the 4K sword is using the dark sword moveset.

Dragon's Talisman as Gwynevere's Talisman that's strikingly odd. If it wasn't cut content, then that would imply that the First Born Son of Gwyn(FBSG) wasn't the only that made some sort of alliance with the dragons after some time had past in the game. Maybe that's one of the other reasons, she ran away with god Flann? Which also makes me wonder, did Gwynevere left shortly after FBSG?

unused content can't be used as canon, because andre would be gwyn's firstborn, oswald the "dragon oracle", there would be a shit ton of problems with the Izalith family, etc... but ironically in ds3 the queen of lothric, supposedly gwynevere, has some connection to dragons because of oceiros...
