I did similar to other games. Tab to target, 1234 switches through RH weapon, LH Weapon, spells, Items, respectfully. Then you can long press them to automatically go to the first slotted item/spell etc.

The fact they haven't changed the A.B.X,Y,LB,RB Menu options is pretty disgusting. I mirrored the Menu options (Y is Y - X is X) apart from A & B which you swapped for 1 & 2, I've found swapping them for E & Q to be quite consistent. I found the default, shift, as sprint to be buggy with jumping so I also swapped with Space Bar. I also found default, shift+clicks, for strong attacks stick you to the floor (bit of an obvious disadvantage) I'll try the mouse 4 + 5 buttons as recommended I'll also try the Space Bar for jumping too! Thanks

just got the pc game and i can't even get out of the setup screen from the main menu... went to bindings and setup but how do i leave to start the game?

How do i bind something like heavy attack to double click?

It doesn't allow me change my keybindings at all. I put V for the jump button and it just auto goes back to default when existing the menu. Help..? Do I need a mod or something? Is there a save button?

Changing Jump to G is my recommendation; in pvp space bar on both run & jump is suicide. I put heavy left hand (parry) on R & heavy right hand (sword) on F + alternative as shift with either Mouse 1 or 2.

Shift+Spcbar is an amazing bind that no one ever uses I have jump as Shift+spcbar. Parry R is also awesome and I shift modify my attacks aswell

Probably sticking with Default would be the best for 3 button mouse. I would have to experiment a little to see though. :)

This is good but I strongly advise not leaving your jump to the dash spacebar because you have to release the dash to before the jump and it cuts your jump distance what was being super hard to time. I just mapped jump to letter q period and a half mouse will click to lock onto enemies.

Almost my exact same binds, except... 1=Switch right hand weapon 2=Switch left hand weapon 3=Switch spells 4=Switch quick items. R=Use quick items E=Interact (how do people play PC games with this not being the interact button?) LMB=Right hand light attack RMB=Right hand heavy attack LShift=Left hand light attack (Most of the time there's a shield in that hand, but it's easy to get used to throwing sorceries or attacking with it) LCtrl=Left hand heavy attack (having a parry on quick bind is nice, also good for using arts) C=Jump (yeah it's weird, i hate having two functions on the same bind in games)

+jojo t You can strafe left and right while you are locked on to an enemy otherwise there is no way to do it that I am aware of.

Just wondering, because my ctrl button is small and its hard for me to parry. Any ways to change the parry key binding so its more easier for me to parry attacks and do more dmg.

Oh My bad, the Parry button is attached to the hand you have your shield in. I can't remember what the default binding was but it relates to where your shield is. I rebound mine to Mouse 4(thumb button).

Edit: it is under Key Bindings > Attack Tab> Left Hand Attack.

Woulda been cool to highlight the actions that do not have a specific key bind such as jump attack or kick.

It doesn't show your keybinds. Devs were lazy to change that, instead you have to right click and go through that menu. I just got this game as well.

I have a G600 and all i did was map run switch items and select item to the side buttons (reason for selecting items is for holding it down to get the first item faster). I also set off hand heavy attack to the 3rd mouse button. I was really annoyed how hard it was to a stance weapon art normal attack.

+Jace Terhune You need a shield(that can parry) or parry weapon (ie Parry dagger or Katana) equipped, then use the alt attack button you set up. In my case the shield is in the left hand so I would use Mouse button 4 to Parry. Check the default key bindings to see what your key is then rebind it to something comfortable.

Is there's a mod or anything like that to change the button guide icons to keyboard keys or mouse? So it's easier to look at it

Wow, I have never seen this problem before. You might have to go into the ini. files and manually change them, but I am not sure if that is even possible. I also use Win 10.

Ioannis Asvestas Sorry, I am not familiar with the PS3 controller scheme. I did this video based on playing with a Keyboard and Mouse using the in-game controller layout. There may be a video out there looking specifically at the PS3 controller.

+elektroluver Thanks man. To answer: 1. No, I have not encountered any restrictions so far in the bindings. 2. The 'function' buttons relate to buttons on a game pad/Controller and in DS3 are bound to menu options such as Remove, Switch and Simple Stats. They can be rebound but there is a clickable menu so there is no need to rebind them. T

I saw this a while back and am using the exact settings. Well done, this setup has been a life saver. The ONLY thing I think we have against us K/M players is the lack of quick menu swapping for armor and weapons. It's really hard to do with K/M.

+Jones Lund You have to run then jump and let go of the forward button. So in my case it is 'W' + Space...when I am ready to jump and not roll tap Sspace and let off of 'W'. It's a bit tricky but you'll get it.

Anyone else think camera movement is a bit clunky on mouse and keyboard or is it just me?

Yeah the mouse literally can steal 10-20 avg fps. You have to really lower your mouse's dpi to make any improvement because in game sensitivity doesn't do anything. I've been looking for a "mouse camera fix" or "mouse fps fix" but I can't find anything on it.

it pisses me off to see that fromsoftware had a nice click once for light attack and click twice to heavy attack in DS2. Now with my buying DS3 and loving the DS2 Mouse mechanics I can see DS3 isn't really keyboard and mouse friendly.

+Alexandru Gigoiu Kicking is not a bound key, it happens automatically when you are close enough to an enemy. But to answer your question it is light attack + move forward so in my case it is W + Left Mouse button. It's annoying because it will actually mess your combos up when you kick, it's only good for slightly breaking a guard or poise.

+Alexandru Gigoiu i was testing mechanics pretty much its as deadwinter told you. but you need to stand still before if you do running or moving will do regular attack to the front, ds3 need to add full keyboard mouse support to prevent this and do full remap. my first ds game and find it annoying.

+TheDeadWinterDead Every time I try M&K on DS3, it's all jittery. It tries to go back to forward and I'm a big strafe guy. I can't just hold W and aim with my mouse, it feels awkward.

Idk why they never change key bindings for pc ports, its always a fucking nightmare even if you DO rebind the keys since each key has several functions that make absolutely no sense when put together, especially on keyboard and mouse... And here the addition of mouse actually makes things WORSE! I frigging killed and aggro'd a few npc's trying to navigate dialogue since lmb is also to swing your sword... Good thing the fire keeper respawns at least...

You set your key bindings and then make sure you use the menu and press 'Back' and the keys will auto save. If you 'ESC' out of the menu they will not save.

I was super annoyed with the default key bindings. I've been a WoW player for years so I wanted to set it up a little more similar to what I'm used to (click to interact and number keys for attacks.) Here's what I've come up with so far. We'll see how well it works when I get into the game. Unfortunately they don't allow you to bind the run function to the mouse buttons (as WoW does) so I settled on moving it over to the R key. Moved the right and left side scrolls to D and F to make them closer and then jump back is already assigned to the space bar. I moved the run function over to R from the normal W key because it seems easier to use the left pointer finger on the R key and then spread the middle and ring fingers over to the number keys They had the attacks set to the mouse buttons and shift+mouse buttons which was a bit annoying. I changed five attacks to: (This is the ROW of numbers at the top of the keyboard, not the number pad keys) 1 - Two hand Weapon 3 - Right Hand normal attack 2 - Right hand strong attack 4 - Left Hand normal attack/Block for shields 5 - Left Hand strong attack/Block for shields I also put the left hand normal "attack" on the right button since that function lets you also block with your shield and it's easier to run with a shield up using the mouse button. W - Change Right Hand Weapon S - Change Left Hand Weapon (Shield) Tab-Lock Target Changed the controlled "A" button to the Left mouse button so that I can interact/loot quickly. I happen to have side buttons on my mouse so I change the "Use item"/Controller "X" function to Mouse Button 3. If you don't have a mouse with side buttons you could assign it to a key that's within easy reach of your left hand (T for example)

You don't need a mod to change the key bindings, you can do that in the game menu. If you read my whole comment above I listed the ones that I'm trying to start with. The only thing that I couldn't change through the regular menu was the run button to mouse buttons (like in WoW.) So I'm getting used to the combination of R for run and the mouse as directional steering. It's a little weird and definitely different than WoW. I haven't had much time to play and I'm not the greatest with melee combat. I've started tanking a bit on WoW in the past few years but initially I played a lot of casters. So far, with my limited experience trying to play a Sorcerer in DS3, you're not going to be able to get away with simply casting a boss to death in the beginning. You don't come in to the game with any magic regain and you don't have enough resources to replenish your magic enough to attack with only that. Guess I'll have to work more on my melee combat skills.

Terrible for keyboard no other pc game plays like this. This is not worth full price of £40 even steam 1/2 price £20 is still to much for the clunky game play.
