Nah my first time I had to fat roll with havels armor before I knew perrying existed ( my first souls game without looking anything up bc I didn't have wifi in my family household )

When you fought The Soul Of Cinder in DS3 and beat his first phase with all the different builds, what youre doing is fighting all the people who linked the first flame thousands and thousands of times since this fight, then in the second phase, Gwyn takes over the Soul of Cinder and the music changes to the Gwyn boss theme. Full circle.

Gwyn is so easy, if you just parry cheese him. Which I personally don’t like doing, but it’s probably easy as hell to just parry him over and over. Also the Estus drinking being slow will definitely make you pissed of in Ds2, it’s worse there.

DS2 Estus is only slow if you have low Agility but almost as fast as DS1 Estus at 100+ Agility. Agility determines item usage speed and dodge I-frames by leveling Adaptability or minor amounts of Agility from Attunement. Most players recommend leveling Adaptability to at least 20. Though it's not required as you can dodge 95% of attacks in the entire game with the starter 80-85 Agility with careful dodge timing. Life Gems are faster mid-combat than Estus, but Estus heals more per use. You just have to respect enemy spacing when chugging unlike DS3.

You beat gwyn without cheesing him with parries, which is something a lot of souls pllayers cant claim. If you compare the ending of this to the one you got in DS3 is shows just how weak the flame has gotten. In DS1 it engulfs the entire room when linked, while in dark souls 3 it barely has the strength to envelop the player in fire, hence why so much of the game is focused on ash and cinders vs the fire and flame of the first game (even tho much of the power of DS1 is illusion anyways but thats a whole nother topic)

I luv so much the Gwyin's grab move. I know that is easy to avoid.. but I they would have given such move to the player I would use only that: grab the enemy and BOOM... out of the monitor.
