"We want our rasslin'!" 😂
The way it plays that eerie music at the end, saying what Vince is in hot water for... I feel like after it would be fitting if it showed Vince in a black cloak saying that it's not the last you'll hear from him, before scurrying off into his lair.
Vince the Goat the best part of this was the dude saying ole don’t like ice cream 😂
As an English man, we never got to see the whole territory thing, so we basically got WWF, that's all we knew, I love learning about it, but wrestling in tiny gyms and drawing tiny amounts of people, it wasn't over. I love Cornette but the fans and rats were barely there. Yes obviously there was a big boom with WCW, but that's national, not international. I didn't know who Ric Flair was until he was in WWF! And before I get grief from people from Texas or who think the N Korea show was legit, that's not even national, that's state famous, that's all!! SAD BUT TRUE!!

You do realize you're just saying wrestling was territorial before Vince nationalized it... which is quite literally the entire point of this video, and one of the most well-known things in wrestling history... right? The fans were barely there? You could draw 500 people to a gym in Cousinlove, Alabama any night of the week. In fact, you could draw 500 people to damn near any gym, high school, or VFW hall anywhere in the country night after night after night. When you have almost no production costs and only 3-4 matches on the card everyone was raking in money. But what you're really missing, because you're not aware of how the territories worked, is that every territory also had larger venues that they ran. Mid-South Wrestling might draw three or four hundred at a spot show in the middle of nowhere, but they'd sell 10,000 tickets at Mid-South Coliseum show every week and run shows at the Superdome in New Orleans every few months. Paul Boesch would regularly run the 9,000 seat capacity Sam Houston Coliseum. In Dallas they were regularly running shows at Cowboys Stadium. The small shows were the bread and butter but it was the big ones that bought your house.

British wrestling faded away in the mid/late 80s, just before Sky television brought WWF to the UK.
Cornett must have forgotten about the XFL.
I’m glad Ole lived just long enough to see Vince crumble
Wrestling would not have been big in the 1990s and early 2000s without Vince McMahon and Black Saturday. I think the territories disappearing was the right thing, because had the territories survived, someone else from one of them would done what Vince did.

Nah The territory system was MUCH better for the wrestlers. I don’t see how people get this wrong so easily. Competition is the best way for capitalism to operate monopolies are terrible for customers and workers.

another legendary upload :)
Geez, It almost seems like Vince McMahon went all Gordon Gecko on the territories.
How completely different both Hulk Hogan and Vince are looked at TODAY compared to 1980's.
Thanks so much for the awesome uploads, can we please get the new wrestling series 'Billy Corgan's Adventures In Carnyland' uploaded?.... it just came out yesterday (all 8 episodes) and is a behind the scenes look at Billy Corgan running his wrestling company (the NWA). the trailer looked really good!
I feel like they could make a whole season just on Vince McMahon

This was a good episode. For real like whether you like Vince or not people gotta admit that he is a good businessman. Yea sure he may have played dirty sometimes but hell what businessperson hasn’t you know. While most of them were played Checkers Vince played Chess he saw opportunities and ceased them. That’s what being a businessman or woman is about ceasing opportunities whenever there are some. He knew what he was doing when he went to different territories and bought up the TV times. He offered a lot that the TV networks, wrestling companies and talent couldn’t refuse. Yeah it sucked some people ain’t have a job anymore but that how business goes. When one company buys out or merges with another there’s gonna be layoffs They can’t keep everybody on staff cause they can’t afford too. It’s nothing personal, it’s just business. Like they said in the video if Vince ain’t do it then somebody was going to make pro wrestling national and international. Just Vince was the first to beat other promoters to it
appreciate the upload
The demise of the territories has affected wrestling tremendously. McMahon was a savage businessmen, but the territories developed the stars. ALL OF THEM. Hogan, Savage, Ventura, Flair, etc all came out of the territories. Even the Stone Colds, Halls, Nashes, all came out of the territories. The product you see today stinks, and this is the reason why.

Vince killed Wresting is the truth and if Cornette cant see it well its one thing that we don't agree on otherwise great dude ! Vince killed Wrestling and Wrestling is killing VINCE ! its prety sad because many many families lost Money and careers and also those areas became very poor or poorer. Not good at all, we could do with it back as a community bringing the past back to the glory days.

vince killed wrestling? WWE is still top of the wrestling business and will be for the next 50-100 years because of Vince Blueprint, the way Nick Khan and HHH running its vince patter, getting TV deals, Hollywood stars, promotions, advetisement, House shows, wrestling 4 days in 7 weeks touring. Those wont change as Vince laid the foundation which the fans dig and will ever follow
