As a kpop stan for 6+ years, I agree with everything you said, companies know that there are plenty of people who wanna be idols so they don't bother to take care of their current idols, trainees are usually kept in basement, these idols have to go through inhuman treatment and now kpop is getting weirder because 13yr old kids are debuting, they even sexualize these kids , and trust me when I say it's always the fandom that causes chaos in idols life , people start hating an idol just because they are dating, it's totally toxic

Every K-pop fan or the one who is becoming should watch this. It's okay to like & support whoever or however you want but when it reaches unhealthy obsession or toxicity then there's a huge problem in your life.

Even Suga from BTS also kept his shoulder injury hidden in the fear of the agency rules but after that it was resolved ofcourse and I guess fans also wished for his recovery , there was not negative comment about that. Points you forgot to add negative ~ idol shipping - K-pop fans tend to ship two idols (romantically) be it the same or different gender aegyo - idols are expected to act cute in front of their fans even grown adults 20-30yr old, K-pop fans tend to babying the idols(luckily this is changing as idols are refusing to act cute or babylike). Newgen - idols at young ages such as 10/11 y/o are expecting their debut which is literally not good, it gives exploration vibes good points fandoms- kpop fandoms make huge donation and help in times of disasters with donations and trends that helps in changing the society songs - 80% of these kpop songs are good and meaningful (unlike other artist which make songs on drgs, girls , s3x ) autotune- very less idols use auto tune ( which makes sense cause they train for many years )

As a k-pop fan I truly agree that there are so many toxic fans out there..and this toxicity really needs to be stopped. Bcz of their stupidity whole fandom gets suffered. As a k-pop fan i just want to say that both fans and artists are incomplete without each other... Artists, they need our support, love. Similarly fans should understand that they are normal human beings just like us..we should respect them, their work , love their music, their personality rather than just crazily obsessed with them..

i completely agree with everything he said in this video but i also believe that due to the increasing awareness of this toxicity things have started to change a lot. nowadays you can see the fans bashing these companies for being too harsh with the idols, for forcing ridiculous rules upon them, not taking proper responsibility of their idols and being careless. many fans also report toxic stans on the internet. and most fans do not tolerate if their idol's privacy is being invaded by some toxic fan. and i've noticed that dating culture is actually being praised now that many international fans have joined this community so you can see that most of the fandom is actually quite supportive of their idols dating someone. many idol groups have pressed charges against their companies and so many idol are now sharing their experiences, so i do believe that thing are actually changing for good

i really loved your video harsh and I want to tell that when I entered Kpop 3 years back and was a newbie I thought how they are so slim and good looking and can have everything they want but the reality was something else and even harsher than I imagined. You should also include about how idols debut at the young age like 12 to 15 or even more younger the training period also because if they are debuting at age btw 12 to 15 they have to start training at more young age in which they lose golden years of their life and also how some idols drop out of the school because of pressure

This is coming from someone who got to do the research project on topic of 'BTS, KPop and Hallyu (Korean) wave'. This video provides half knowledge about the things mentioned about KPop industry. It's not updated. For eg. 1. DATING LIFE: Usually KPop idols are not allowed to date for first 3 to 4 years of debut apparently, so that they don't loose their focus as most of the KPop stars are teenagers at that time. After that, KPop idols' dating life is kept as a secret. Dawn and Hyuna's case was an exception because they were in the Cube Entertainment (allegedly the worst company for artists) which gave in to the demands of some obsessed fans over their so many supportive fans. 2. CONTROL OVER ARTISTS' LIFE: It is true that KPop companies control their artists' lives to a great extent but that was more for 2nd generation groups. Now they are lenient. And there are ultimate exceptions like PNation, BigHit Entertainment (BTS' company) which have been lenient towards their artists from the very start and took care of their artists' wishes/sentiments rather than straight out controlling them. ( I consider BigHit's good and considerate treatment towards BTS as one of the important factors of BTS' massive success.) 3. TOXIC / OBSESSED FANS: KPop fans are not some "obsessed 15 - 16 yr old girls" There are many toxic / obsessed KPop fans like the ones shown in the video but they are NOT the MAJORITY. 18+ people constitute atleast 50% of the fandoms. For instance, if we look into A.R.M.Y fandom, it is the only KPop fandom that have run more than 600 charity projects in the name of BTS. Indian BTS fans raised $29000 in just 24 hours for covid patients and many more. The toxic and immature fans are usually the most evident/visible & loudest especially on social media because of which MAJORITY of the fandom who are normal fans , just appreciate their work & support their artists, (irrespective of their age and gender) are often overshadowed.

So I know about KPop industry, its artists, their work and fandoms (even better than many KPop fans). BTS members themselves donate for various causes as a group as well as individually, which influenced their fans to do the same. They didn't ask their fans to do the charity.😅 BTS members are the shareholders in their company which proves their independence....

This topic is very important, its not just the company restricting their idols but also us, their very own fans. We want them perfect, we want them ready to be dated. Kpop fans fantasize about their idols being their partner. The fan fiction community is crazy. And when an idol reveal his/her relationship they get more hate than cheers some careers are ruined due to them just dating (exactly what happened to chan from exo, the hate he got was crazy). If an idol gains some weight, we label them ugly and say they stopped taking care of themselves. If we, fans stop doing this and accept idols as humans the companies will do the same.at the end of the day its us for whom the idols and the company is working for, we are the market. Whatever we want them to do, the company will make them do.

Bitter Truth. Many kpop idols commit suicide just because of uncaring agencies and toxic stans. As a hardcore stan It's break my heart whenever I see those toxic and delusional fans😔....Some crazy stans even invades their privacy and give death threats on dating rumors. People need to understand that Idols are humans too. Let them live the way they want. Apart from beauty standards and strict contracts.

as an old kpop fan .....we fans are nothing but bread and butter for them ....and the industry is just like others with the exception of the level of fan service and the companies are also to blame in that ...everything abt be it the personality or anything abt the idols we are not 100% accurate cuz the companies have told them to act in certain way infront of camera and makes the fans go delulu and to something absurd levels making the normal fans to feel okay to have an authority abt someone's personal life.

Kpop industry is really harsh but As I'm watching kpop and kdrama since 2018( doesn't mean I don't watch any other languages shows.. I love exploring different content) the standards for beauties was always so fucked up.. Even now they make songs about self esteem and love the way you are is just looks like double standard but i think if you are mature enough you should just watch everything for fun and relaxation instead of dying for those people and fighting..and to be honest kdramas content is really good and stories are really deserving if we stop discriminate about language.. And harsh said we have 3rd generation in Kpop.. No its now fourth and fifth too.. And they all are minors like 13 and 14 year old..

I'm a K-pop fan sins a long mostly from 2014-15.... all I can say whatever you have said in this video it's true and we kpop fans knows about this already...

I have never seen them anything more than K-pop artists. I just enjoy their music and that's it. I'm not always about K-pop, and the same goes with some of my friends. Whereas, I have seen some people elder than me obsessed with them.

I'm an ARMY myself and I agree 200% coz I came across toxic fans too, the toxicity in Kpop is everywhere, but I also came across so many good people in the fandom who helps and behave mature, they are just good fans who support them without engaging with toxicity...... fans are people who support their favorite artist and respect them and toxic fans are people who want everything PERFECT, suppose there is a male idol, so they want that idol to not date, to look perfect, to serve the fans, to perform perfectly with no mistakes etc.... In India Kpop popularity is still increasing, especially BTS and BLACKPINK and I would say it's fine when you are in your limits, it's fine when you know your place as a fan, you MUST NOT hope that you are going to marry a BTS member, like plss let's be real and come out of the fictional world of yours, I've seen teenagers saying that they want to marry V of BTS, they want to marry Jimin of BTS and it worries me coz this is when it's becomes toxic..... Jungkook of BTS in his live said, "I'm a human too" coz some fans were commenting weird things and he is 200% right, idols or artists are human too, they can do mistakes when they perform, they can be angry too, they can feel emotions, they can date the person they want to coz they are human beings too...... not all fans are toxic. some are also support them and agree with the idol whatever he/she want to do. for me they are like my bestfriends. they helped e so many times. they taught me so many things. when i heard rumor about one of my fav idol is dating so i literally was so happy for him i was like wow he is living his life as he wants and he is happy i was so haappy. but if any fans think that no he/she is mine or they should not date and all then they are not fans. and please if you are a fan then support them and help them with this toxicity,. they taught us to be kind and spread love so please don't do such things that idols don't like.

yes many fans are toxic as they hate on other groups if it’s not their faves which is disgusting no one should hate on any groups no matter who they are. All idols work hard to achieve success they are never forced into something they don’t want to do. All idols have had it tough in the early days especially BTS they had nothing also company’s making them diet is wrong . And many do start out really young Jungkook was 15 when he joined BTS . Jimin He went on a diet in which he wouldn't eat a proper meal for 9 days ( which is basically almost starving himself ) then on the 10th day, he would eat a meal, in addition, he would drink lots of water and practice dancing for hours and hours and hours. He was constantly fainting, according to other members, which is normal because his body didn't have enough energy. His members would tell him to eat but he would refuse to do so. Also he fainted on stage at fan meeting on Osaka in 2015. The company’s need to stop forcing them to do this it’s wrong . No idol should put their body through that it’s dangerous and many fans followed Jimin ‘s diet and they shouldn’t. Jimin said he did it to be more handsome but he’s already handsome he dieted during his shoot for set me free part 2 as well. He didn’t eat until the end of the shoot . Also J Hope fainted from exhaustion on the filming for the mv boy with luv he didn’t rest at all the whole day he had to go the hospital to get an IV. Also Jungkook also passed out on stage when they was on tour in chile he was not well. They work too hard all idols need a break in between being a idol is very tough on them no matter if they are younger or older. It takes a toll on their mental health I’m glad BTS are having a long break they need they been working non stop for 10 years. Being a idol you got to wake up really early you don’t get to sleep properly you get only a few hours about 3 or 4 hours . You always have to to dance practise a lot and doing that all the time in one day is tiring and causes exhaustion . And always have to do video shoots that takes up the whole of the day they is so much they have to do. They have to have their hair and make up done etc by the end of the shoot it’s morning or late at night so then they have to get up early again the next day . And they have too interviews too etc it’s all frustrating and stressful .BTS made big hit what it is they saved the company. Big hit was nearly broke . BTS made the company better. Also Another group Big Bang also come from nothing too they had no money either to eat properly. they joined YG at a younger age. Taeyang was just 13 when he joined the company. Gd and Taeyang both spoke about their bad living conditions they lived in as trainees they had it tough too like BTS. They They also slept in a tiny room as well they YG didn't have a big budget to manage properly their trainee back then. It's not that YG didn't invest in their trainee -_- There was a little restaurant near the dorm that always letting the members eat for free since they really got no money to eat. They were openly begging to their manager. For being able to traine properly ,GD heat in the microwave a chocopie since with the heat, it's becomes more sweet and then it gave him more energy to train. That was the reality of BB. No idol should have to live like that when becoming an idol they shouldn’t have to go through all then struggles it’s unfair.

As a fan, the time spent on Twitter was really bad. There were some really good people who were just there for the artists but the rest of the lot are there just to bully each other in the name of their favs. The artists themselves are friends, enjoying each other's company but the fan wars were just too much. Now I just enjoy their music and content and always make sure not to argue with anyone because there are some immature people who don't understand anything. And also people are always after BTS for their fandom name should first of all know that it's an acronym. But it's also funny how everyone knows them because of their fans😂😂 they make good music but if you don't like you can just completely ignore them, what's the point of spreading so much hatred.🤷🏻‍♀️

Singing is my passion so it's obvious that I would listen to every genre...I have sung Hindi Malayalam English Korean Marathi Punjabi Sri Lankan Tamil Telugu and many more language songs...I always try to explore new things in the field of music!!From Lata Ji To Neha Kakkar (only about India)...I know all of the singers I need to till now....Also I am a South Indian so don't even tell me about not listening to classical I have even sung those in competitions and won prizes!! I also sing bhajans at temples lol And coming to BTS everyone has their favourites for a reason you don't know about my life...what sad things happened to me....how only BTS could be a comfort for me!!when I couldn't share Things to people...stop judging people!...Looks don't matter to me !! I would rather choose talented and kind artists who make me feel loved and they got both so it's a win!! Exactly and they should be treated as humans and given basic privacy. Some extremely obsessed fans give death threats when they date. I feel so bad for them at this point. Those fans should understand that Idols should be loved & respected for their talent and music but at they shouldn't be treated as their personal property. Idol life just looks colourful so colourful coz they don't show us the dark sh*ts they go through!....And I really feel that toxic fans make the idols more uncomfortable than the haters!...they act like they own them lol...We lost some Angels too! To people: He didn't generalize whole fandom of any group for toxic. We know all people can't be same some good some bad. But obviously good attitude of a fandom is overshadowed by toxic behavior by the same fandom people. That doesn't make all of them toxic. (few uneducated people will generalize under the name of bts or bp, ignore them as always)

BTS are one of few artists in industry who are given 70-80% creative freedom.

As a fan of music world, i know that 99% of the things he said is true. Kpop is now all about looks and and body shape. Also many of them commite suicide because of many pressure. I am very old BTS army so i know about it very well. Kpop is became a cringe now not only because of this but also because of fanwars. Look there are many fandoms in kpop and they all fight each other for there favs not only kpop fandom but the crazy fans of Western industries are also involved in disturbing algorithm. I am so deep in this music industry ocean. People enjoy music but they don't know about it's dark side. Awards like mtv and grammys are mostly based on some unfair things. Jungkook topic - When mamber of BTS jeon jungkook's fake dating rumours became aired many of his fans were upset . I am using fams because many of them was solo stans which we BTS army call obsessed or sasang. These people became so obsessed with there idols. And when thses fake photo came out some of solo stans became very obsessed and cutted their hands look not all girls have cutted their hands they posted pictures from Google. Yah it came to everyone when a community of BTS army posted it. Back to the time when rumours were spreading jungkook came and apologize to the fans about it and said " i am sorry i made you upset because of untrue rumours". Look as he said fandoms are really strong so yah when the BTS army knew that jungkook have apolised even nothing was his fault they came together and banned all the accounts which have posted something like which is about cutting hands for jungkook. Then BTS army now came to hybe label (BTS entertainment) and then BTS army made them to post report about everything. Ofcause they have to do because yah it's BTS army. Not only this BTS army always made donation on there idols bithday. Like for Cancer patients, children with disabilities and for the old person who have no one look for them . Not only this They also started a camp for corona patients. But these all things never highlighted because everyone looks down on us. If BTS mamber donate anywhere army also donate there. For the kpop- Yah kpop has became a compatition like jee and UPSC. One more thing it's kpop's 4th generation not 3rd generation. Kpop has became focusing on looks. There are many groups who has noisey music but fans still like them because yah for them it's became a trend. Many of the BTS army have recently joined and yah they are also following trends like spreading toxity but listen not all perspective of FANS are wrong because randomly i always sees the video who gave there homophobic perspectives which is so humiliating and for the big fandom like BTS army who loves there idols so much never going to digest. It's so disrespectful because you have nothing to say about music but there looks and calling them g@y. For no reason and if we feel disrespectful we say them anything then they call us toxic not seeing who the one is the really toxic. Look kpop idols are Korean and they have to follow there culture like we Indians have to do. They have a culture not having body hair on there young age because it represents lasy and old person. So Stop hating them for there fans because true side of their fans no one want to see because many of indians are blind folded. Now about for sucidal cases it's not only because of their crazy fans and kpop industry its also because of kpop hate. Yah, i have saw so many comments where people talks about how they don't like Kpop idols nas and start death threatening them. For example from resent insident jungkook got death threats for no reason worried army posted it and started making project about #savejungkook but many people in comments section said THEY WILL BE HAPPY MORE IF HE DIES WITH ALL THE OTHER MAMBERS, jin of BTS also injected by unothorised vaccine which is probably poison. He was in pain. One more a mamber of skz got so many comments where haters were telling him to die, because they don't lie. Them. Just because you don't like them you will kill them. But people never focus on these things they always focus on how to citisies BTS and BTS army. Grow up now. I know that some of the Army's are very toxic but not all . And about jin incident it was happened in military in jan. But people know about it after 4 months. No one in industry wanted us to know. But when BTS army's knew about it hybe lable have to take actions also same goes to Korean government. Again it's BTS army. We can't tolerate anything bad happening to our idols. They both had to take action. He is right idols are controlled by industries. But not for all groups. Mostly if you talk about BTS there are many things which people don't know about BTS and BTS army. BTS controlled by industry because of contract but industry is controlled by BTS army because money. And according to army BTS is our kings . We true BTS army only do what our BTS would like . There are some problems because it's really big fandome and not with normal feelings it hard to handle. Some are toxic but haters are not less toxic. If you were bts army you would know. Calling someone gay, feminine is not maturity. I was and I still am being bullied in my college because I stan bts. I didnt force them to like bts Infact i didnt even talk to them they are just bullying me by saying many hurtful things. And you think that is not toxicity ?

This is coming from a kpop fan who was actually obsessive over these idols, when I was new to kpop I was also like those irritating fans who keep arguing with people who don't like kpop But now I do realise alot of things.... What I was back then was an extremely obsessive kpop fan with a huge lack of maturity I won't say that I am completely mature now, but definitely i understand how less freedom these idols have and the toxic fans, who dont realise that they are being toxic, make it difficult for other people to enjoy kpop and have their own opinions about kpop. Even if you dont like kpop or have never listened to any of it, its all good! I appreciate ur music taste! But im happy that i have changed from an obsessive kpop stan to just some person who likes to listen to kpop

A kpop fan from a long time and i agree with each and every point you said 💜

as an BTS army personally i am obsessed over any member the problem is not the idols , but some toxic fans they are ruining everything

The Bands mentioned 0:36 From left Indian Ocean , Raghu Dixit in the middle , Parikramra on the Right The songs that got me into them are Bandeh , Khidki , But it Rained The Unfortunate thing is we have never given them any sort of acknowledgement to the home grown artists , India just like its diverse cultures have diverse musical talents and musical acts that will literally blow your mind.

I don't listen to K-Pop at all but from what I had seen, even giving your opinion in front of a K-Pop fan can turn into an extremely toxic and illogical arguement(exceptions exist). No hate to any K-Pop bands but yes, i absolutely do not like a major part of their audience due to their brainless obsession with a band that can turn into toxicity in no time!

mostly the new kpop fans are toxic and old one are mature enough to understand the idol's personal life.

i'm an army but i don't obesses over bts, i focus on my life , do my works and everything , i like them cause of who they are. i hate toxic fans of them otherwise i don't' Stan any other K-pop groups (i like some but I'm just a bts Stan)

Actually in entrainment industry things works like that. Even if you see any corporate job,you are actually is a slave. So if you want to a make life, you have to sacrifice something And for BTS,they have their own equal shares in hybe for each of the members which means they are not slave. They are actually a legal shareholders and a equally important part of hype company. For others group it is not the reality. They are actually worked under pressure and extreme diet chart that effects their lifestyle. So everything has their own pros and cons.

And the stalker send food to them and when he refused to take it and posted on internet about it, the fan who sent it started posting weird post and is now saying she will kill him. It's true but it's half truth. We generally call this type of fans saesang. About whole truth we ARMY'S reported it to hybe label ( The company of BTS) and we also started hashtags about it in Twitter. I agree there are crazy ones but as a fandom we also recover quickly and try to maintain safety and privacy of members.

Fact is every other entertainment industry and it's fandoms have a dark and toxic side sometimes even beyond our imagination... 🙂 Be it Bollywood, Hollywood or even Sports Industry for instance. KPop is No Exception 🤷‍♂️ In every fandom, toxic fans are the minority but they are super loud & visible especially on social media..... It just depends on which side would you want to focus more.
