I'm going through ARR right now as a Gladiator/Paladin to get the hang of tanking, but I plan to switch to Dark Knight as soon as I can get it in Heavensward. This guide will really help me ease into the role once I get it. Thank you in advance!

A tip that helped me is do the low level dungeons with your squadron where all the attacks are not available so you can learn the basics combos and gradually get new ones to implement instead of looking at all these abilities and try to learn All of them at the same time

You could also just do low level dungeons with duty support, or even with other players, the advice is still good! 😁

Kudos on this guide, it seems like it would be really helpful for new players for my favorite tank.

Depending on the timing when you reached level 90 with the job, they might've changed it quite a bit with the Blood Weapon rework! I hope you still found the guide interesting despite that! 😁

My DRK is now 70 since we last spoke. I saved that and SGE for a solo leveling since they get easier queues. I took BLM, MCH and RPR to 80 together through the MSQ. Just finished ShB I’ve followed your guides for all of my jobs so far. I’m looking forward to your 51-90 guide now. And also the BLM remake guide. I hope I’ll continue to be able to learn what I got from your guides for extreme, savage and ultimate content later on. Cause mastering multiple openers and rotations is a nightmare 😂

@@Keijiro1988 Thats awesome! I'm really glad to hear that my guides were such a big part of your journey leveling the jobs! I am sure as you get more and more practice with the jobs, that you will get better and better acquainted with openers, and eventually you will be able to remember the openers from your general knowledge of jobs!

I found easier to turn off the tank stance when i am OT. Give a minute or so. Then turn it back on. Then turn it off when the aggro is yellow or orange (meaning you are doing more damage than the MT). That assures you are 2nd in aggro.

That is also a safe strategy! Very good suggestion! 😊 I usually turn on my tank stance after the initial opener is finished, and then manage it throughout the fight! 😁

In your videos, when you say to use the 123 combo on less than X targets : Should you be doing the whole combo on one target, then switching and doing the whole combo on another? Or should you alternate and do Attack 1 on Target 1, Attack 2 on Target 2, Attack 3 on Target 1 again, etc?

You can alternate as you like! 😊 Usually if I am using single target actions with multiple enemies, I always try to focus the enemy with the most hp, at least once I've established enmity on all enemies as a tank. The reason I would focus the one with most hp is because a lot of jobs have attacks that are good for single target that incidentally contain area of effect components, so leaving mobs alive for longer by spreading your damage more, or focusing the healthiest, is an overall damage gain for the group! If on the other hand you are feeling quite pressed and killing mobs would help, instead focusing the weakest mob remaining is better 😊

I get what you mean 😊 a lot of jobs have multi hit animations but only one attack actually hits multiple times for damage I believe (ninjas dream within a dream) I think if all multi hitting attacks gave multiple damage numbers it would be overwhelming though 😅

@@CaetsuChaijiCh Maybe:) But DK attacks are slow and big. Without dmg they are without impact, its sad a little bit. Dancer attacks are alsou without impact its like throwing sheets of paper:)

@@I3orjoyzee Oh what I meant was more that if the attacks did their damage over multiple hits, then the numbers would be smaller, but there would be a lot more numbers, and that would probably not be very helpful to see what you are doing! Few big numbers at least makes you feel like you are hitting harder!

You have to progress the main scenario quest until you reach ishgard, where the job can be unlocked. This requires completing all of the a realm reborn story, which includes level 1-50, as well as a "post-game story" that stays at level 50 for a while. 😊

@@CaetsuChaijiChpost game story AND the Crystal Tower. I got to the end of 2.5 or maybe even into 2.55 and the quest marker on Minfilia was red so I couldn’t continue until I finished the primal trials (hard). Finished those and then continued the quest until I completed 2.55 and was locked out of the last quest (maybe last 2?) and the ending cutscenes until I completed the Crystal Tower quests. I feel like Post ARR was damn near as long as ARR itself lol
