Another great video that sub did well but I can tell you love your XFL but for good reason American Bass is a great company that takes pride in there products and are hard to beat in quality and performance for your $ Keep on truckiN bruh bruh 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Just going to point out if you put a sub in any box that is too big it does a thing called unloading, its where the suspension isnt in control of cone. The air in any speaker box is part of the speakers suspension regardless of box design. You could try learning more about the mechanical and electrical properties of speakees. You could stuff some closed cell foam chunks in the box to change the enclosure volume but then you would need a way to have adjustable port length.

Do a test on the Rockville RVB subwoofer please I wanna know what it meters and what it's really pushing

I've been rocking a DKI-15 for 2 years now in 4cuft @33hz. It takes all my Wolfram c-2400 can give it. They were the sister sub to the Wolfram Ag series.

wish you could still get dark audio subs what you end up doing with yours

Still think ya should go just a small step up and try the SKAR vxf series, they are well worth the money and far underrated power wise...

The dark dki will eat a sa 12 in all areas power handling..Xmax..sq...they hit deeper and imo look better ive jaf a few sets of sa subs there nice but when thise dki subs see a true 2k and are broken in they really come alive

Would love to see any of the Ultimax subs reviewed. Decent value subs that can be tuned deep and get loud. (unless you're a extreme bass head, then probably won't get loud enough)

Hey man, I stumbled across your channel recently 👍🏽. Quick question about the XFL. I have a 12 inch XFL in 2.2 cf box at 36 hz hooked up to a taramps md3000. Feeding it around 1200 but I’m not impressed. Doesn’t seem to hit low but maybe it needs to break in. Any suggestions?

Cubic feet on the low side, a 2.7 inch ported box turned to 34 hertz with the subsonic filter set at 30 Hertz 8s what you want, your box is way to small, they're suffocating.

Its choking at 2.2, it needs a bigger enclosure. AB has box specs on their site as a guideline.

I hear my sub maxing out when I play certain songs, what would happen if I let it keep maxing out over time?

Sounds like it's time to get a new sub or enclosure. If by maxing out you mean bottoming out, then I'm pretty sure it will eventually cause some damage. But I've never had my current subs bottom out on me, so I wouldn't really know how bad it is.

Where are you located? I noticed the first in flight license plate (I'm in Raleigh).

You have to go to eBay and take a look at the Victory Pro Audio 15 inch sub they have for 359$ I think, but it has a 479 oz magnet and rated for 2500 rms. I know you do 12s but for that price you get a hell of a subwoofer!

Great review. I think if you had 2 of either sub with true underrated 4 or 5 k amp in a custom box i believe you would hit a 50 plus.

So the big surround wasn’t even needed with only 17.5 mm one way Xmax. The surround from the nko would’ve been sufficient prbly.

Are there subs still being powered by the skar rp1500?. I'm curious as to how you would rate that amp being that it has been sometime that you've had it

@@mikeraskin7319 It just wasn't powerful enough to really push some of these bigger subwoofers. I own a Skar RP-2K, and it has a ton of power, but the amplifier doesn't push the low low frequencies as hard as it should. The cheaper Skar amps do really well from 35hz and up to 60hz. They don't feel as great below 35hz in my opinion. I could feel a huge difference in low end output when I upgraded to an Orion XTR 2500.1dz

Mike Raskin both are awesome budget amps, but the skar rp series and audiopipe Amps r not for sound quality or range, more for some good over everything. Audio control is what I’m trying to upgrade to for my sound quality setup and for spl the skar Amps would be the skv2 series

You should try different size subs and get you a 5k amp,with impedance rise you are not getting much power out of that little skar amplifier

With an FS of 25hz it's gonna do better on the lows and will sound better on music. Most SQ subs have a low FS.

I don't have a bad thing to say about American Bass. Been beating the crap out of two XR 12's for over 2 years on over rated power, and they still keep on rockin and sound good. I really want to change up the configuration now. It's been a long time with the same equipment. Thinking about doing 4x EMF lowballer 10's.

I'm running a skar rp 1500.1 at half ohm and my voltage seems to be dropping alot and I can hear the sub cut out when I turn up the bass knob, idk how low I'm dropping because I don't have a volt meter. I want to know if doing the big 3 and a battery will be sufficient or if to upgrade my alternator first instead of getting a battery.

Brandon Zelaya yes just big 3 and alt. It is rare I get below 13.5 volts. Stick alt is a 160 amp, however, I just got 320 amp alt in the mail today! Stay tuned

@@Zelaya97 You should do much better with an extra battery in the back. Really, you should do all 3. Alternator, extra battery, and the big 3. I run all 3 upgrades (2x AGM batteries, cheap 300 amp alternator, probably really about 250 amps hot, and all 2/0 pure copper welding wire on an Orion XTR 2500.1dz @ 3k watts, and I can pull my voltage down to 13.0 to 13.5 flat out at full tilt.

Literally just buy a large cone area sub... You don't need an fs of 26 btw. You'll never NEED that.

Cant tell where ur rattles r from but some felt pads under the back glass worked wonders for my jeep

Soundstream T5 12 2 ohms. FTW!!!! Cheaper and same power rating. I'm running 2 12" soundstream T5s for over 3 years now with only a Rockford Fosgate power 1500bd cp. And my box is 4.4cf ported at 32hrz.. these soundstreams have held up now over 3 years now and never had no problems at all and I pound hard while driving and yeah check em out you will like em I'm sure. The cost per sub was only $149.00 and could of found em cheaper but 149 is cheap bro so again same power rating as these you are running in the video so please review them kinda a old sub but little knowledge about these jems..

I really like the low fs of this sub.

A strong cap can add cone rigidity

So I have the evl skar 12's . They are 1250 rms but they r under rated. That Americam bass 12 can't keep up with the evl 12. I throw 2000 watts to each of my 12's and they just take the power.

I normally set my high pass crossovers around 120 and then bump my highs a little and just tweak it from there. However I’m still running stock speakers so doesn’t really sound that great

Tuning is going to be different for every setup. Take it to a local decent audio shop and have them do it. If you arent running decent speakers itll never sound great

Just gotta say the stiff dust cap you like is mechanical weight and that big surround slows the sub down.hence less db but makes a solid note tho

Just transferred my main amp and subs into my Blazer. Noticed right off the bat that this SUV's resonance is much higher than my car. But, ive barely had a test run. I can tell the ol' Audiobahns are about out of their comfort range. A bit of life left, but wont last forever. So, its looking like I'm going to wind up with a pair of American Bass XFL's as replacements. Good video, great reviews man! Appreciate the time and money you've spent to bring us these videos, so dumbasses like me know what to get when the old ones go kaplooie.

I have two of them in my shed right now that the spiders ripped off of pulled the screws right out of the housing are they sounded great and the price is amazing but they’re not worth it they lasted maybe six months if they would I have spent a little more time building home they would’ve had a hell of a speaker but I called Trash

@@Frances_P I really couldn’t tell you but my best bet would be that it’s a huge market and hard to compete with big brands. I mean if you have this sub next to one with a reputable name that has similar price, most would pick the name they know.

NerdyBassHead 2004 They arent bad but Id like to hear their vxf series I already heard my buddys zvx and my mtx 9500 was $50 cheaper when it was on sale and sounded 10x cleaner and more accurate but still took over 1500 rms without ever getting warm or any problem, imo those were the best subs for the money when they were on sale u could get them for $290 a piece which is a steal but it sucks now that they are discontinued Im glad I still have mine!

You should get a skar ix 12 lol. Edit: I actually have it is a nice sub and for the price moves a lot I have it in a 1.83 cubic foot box (its recommend a 2 foot box) and get loud. I have yet to put it in a car but so far I'm very impressed. It's on a skar 500w RMS amplifier at 1 ohm yet to push it to its limits tho.

Even through my headphones this sub sounded better then the American bass
