I would regularly go see them here in Columbia back before they became so popular. Their buddy Edwin McCain is also amazing. Saw him perform at a Wal-Mart with nothing but his beautiful voice and an acoustic guitar. No mic, no amp, you would have been amazed.

You are honoring your daughter's God given talents and that is a crucial part of being her parent. It warms my special needs mama heart to hear a parent of a "typical" child say that they know encouraging their child to grow through their strengths (and not fixating on the child's weaknesses) is what is important and it us what WORKS ❤

Darius Rucker had me emotionally in "Hootie and the Blowfish* with "Let Her Cry" He affected me and his voice wAs Hootie in my recollection and solo it's that deep rich expressive voice that makes me happy he decided to sing! What's better than that?

Darius has a voice that touches our souls. His little play within a word will be heard in the library of Hootie and the Blowfish. YES!!! They have a great library of hits. There's was a time that a Hootie and the Blowfish song could be heard across the radio stations. Hootie and the Blowfish rabbit hole....? JUMP IN!

I was thrilled to interview Darius Rucker when his band, "Hootie and the Blowfish" was at their peak. He was gracious, funny, and engaging during our chat. He didn't rush our conversation, and he took such delight in his fans, knowing they/we are the reason for his success. What a genuine man with a rich, raspy emotion-filled voice.

With the rich, bluesy vocals of Darius Rucker and gleeful harmonies of guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, Hootie & the Blowfish sold over 25 million records worldwide after their infectious melodies hit the airwaves in 1994 with hits such as “Hold My Hand”, “Let Her Cry”

Finally reacted to a song I requested. Thank you Mark for requesting & making this happen. As a mother, it's my favorite Darius Rucker song since the 1990's. Sebs, support your daughter in her interest in art. Ask her if she would like to take kids art classes. There are careers that pay well where you need artistic skills.

Darius Rucker has been on my Playlist before mp's existed. I've had CD's of Hootie since the first album was released. Back when my babies were really "babies!" They're in the early 30's now. That guy could sing commercial tag lines and I'd be a sappy mess!!! Sorry, Barry Manilow. This is the most beautiful song, just the words, I've heard in a long, long time. But paired with his voice, I seriously can't imagine anyone else singing this. Thanks for sharing. You need to react to "Let Her Cry." And Seb's, I promise if you bought Millie a sketch book, some charcoal pencils, and watercolor pencils, and a "how to draw" book that teaches her how to conour and shade, you would thrill her to pieces. You never know. Most artistic people I know and work with need more than one outlet. Someday, she just might sing, too. ❤

You seem like an amazing dad. I adore my parents for the way they were with us - we were allowed to follow our passions and do the things we wanted to do, but we had to do SOMETHING. It didn't matter what. We weren't allowed to quit in the middle of a season, generally, but we could decide not to go back so long as we found something else to take part in that we wanted to do more. I'm glad you are encouraging your kids to explore

FUNFACT: This album remains the nineth best- selling album in music history.

Zeb, your raw emotions and authenticity just amaze me! Please don't apologize for that! It's truly 1 of the reasons that you're winning subscribers! I used to listen to music, but now I just watch you listening to music! TU! **To answer your question, I'm also a musician & a singer, but when I hear this song, I don't hear the quality of his voice, or his tone, etc. I just hear the emotions of him being vulnerable, wistful, and reflective. (Sorry about those 😢word choices! I was a HS English teacher, and we're known for being nerdy!) I had to laugh when you said you don't know if you'd heard H&TBF because 'they weren't that big'! They were together for less than 10yrs in the late 80's -mid 90's and had 3 #1s. Oh, & when he was with The Blowfish, the group was not country, they were considered to be Alternative Indie Rock, or something close to that!😊

Great reaction to a tender song. Sebs I am not a father and at 68 I will not be, but it seems to me that supporting and encouraging your child to pursue and perfect their talents is the best path. Too many people try to force their children to live their lives rather than the child's own.

Darius Rucker is so talented; he has such a rich voice, like a thick syrup pouring out of his throat. It's a big voice, his breath is supported beautifully, his phrasing is instinctually amazing, and he sings very naturally, as you said, no complicated vocal riffs. His voice doesn't strive for attention, he is simply telling you a story, and he compels you to listen, drawing you into the song. Never be ashamed of being soft emotionally; it's beautiful, it's your truth, and it is how you will connect to many in your audience. I cry with you, friend. My brow furrowed in emotion at the same time yours did. You are connecting with your channel members. Your honesty and open emotion is one of the big reasons I keep coming back. Also, you know your way around music; it's easy listening to you listening to the singers. How old Is Millie, 7+ maybe? She is not an athlete, but she is enjoying getting some physical exercise; there is nothing wrong with being a healthy bad athlete, if you get what I mean. What she is, is an artist. Which ought to make you overjoyed! Give her plenty of art supplies and encourage her when her muse hits. Frame the best and hang them on the walls of your home. Celebrate who she is! The same with your other daughter/s. You are a good dad; you recognize that she needs to be supported even if she is not fulfilling your dreams. I have 4 kids; the youngest will be 32 this month; I also have three grandkids, and I do have my parental credentials! *grin* Mark Cooper, thank you for the request. Let's get this big boy some good country music; I am thinking some Bluegrass wouldn't hurt, either!

Absolutely stunning lyrics. With your daughters, introduce them to everything and let them have free will to find their hearts desire. Let their light shine and be proud of whomever they become. I was the youngest of 7, and my parents had learned this. Dad was a little league coach, and brothers loved sport. I was the artist and loved books. Mom and dad let me follow my own path. After an adventurous life, I have no regrets, and at 60, all is well with my soul (to quote the incredible Avi Kaplan).

Dude. Can we try some Johnny cash “ghost riders in the sky”?? He didn’t write it but it’s an excellent rendition. My grandpa had it sung acapella at his funeral. It’s awesome.
