I can't freakin believe Jon Bernthal didn't receive some kind of award for his amazing performance as Punisher! It's a travesty really. He stole every scene he was in! Even with D' Onofrio, who was awesome as well.

His story hits the soul. Very sad how on that very day he pledged to his wife that he wouldn’t be gone anymore so he could finally be all theirs. You can tell his heart is with his family and a possesses a good soul. It’s easy to empathize with the punisher.

Theres a sense of dazed, shell-shocked pain about John Bernthals portrayal of the punisher that really gets to me. When Karen hands him the picture of him and his family and he can't even look at it. His eyes keep trying to connect but he can't physically manage it. Theres something about that, that is just amazing. I usually get tired of the whole, dude loses his whole family and becomes a dark n gritty antihero cliche, but the way they tell the story of the punishers loss is so masterful. For example in the graveyard scene, how instead of seeing some gory flashback with tears and guns and screaming, we experience the event through Franks eyes, through his quiet monologue, sitting down in a graveyard. it takes away any hint of cliché and banality. It feels gut-wrenching and ugly and like real loss. I think thats fucking art.

This is what all those other hollow depictions are trying to ape, that pain and loss that the hero's suffering. I've heard once that when a cliche's done well, it magically transforms into an archetype, something that resonates with people on a deeper level. Perhaps the cliche's just a failed attempt at an archetype.

Frank Castle hurts, and Jon Bernthal makes sure that you feel how much he hurts. When talk turns to Frank Jnr. driving his dad crazy with a toy car, you can see how much he is missed, and how much his absence hurts Frank. You can see why the Punisher kills...because he hurts, and not even an ocean of blood will wash away that hurt. That is what is done right here...you feel how much the Punisher hurts.

People argue what gives Frank the right to determine who needs killing, the people that killed his family and anyone like them needs killing, if what happened to Frank happened to anyone, I guarantee the thought of killing everyone involved would enter their minds, Frank is doing what anyone would do or think of doing if such a thing happened to them.

@Tribhuvan Shekhawat he never tried to kill Karen, he always aimed for Grotto only. And he didn't try to kill Daredevil, neither - and he had a lot of opportunities. The first time he could've give him a straight headshot but decided to just give him a "warning shot"; the second time Daredevil was unconcious, so if he wanted him dead, he would've had an easy opportunity to do so. As questionable his actions may be, he would never harm an innocent.

Every Frank Castle scene Daredevil season 2 is absolutely amazing. I keep finding myself coming back to them. Jon Bernthal brings so much emotion and personality to the role of The Punisher and scenes like this one and the cemetery “One batch two batch” explanation with Matt especially show that off. These scenes are so heartbreaking, and their contrast with the raw brutality of his other scenes in Daredevil are vastly superior to what we see in his own show, in my opinion. To no fault of Bernthal’s - I just love seeing his Frank recount memories of his children and wife, versus the flashbacks we get in The Punisher show. It’s powerful stuff.

4:04 it was at this precise moment Frank was reminded by Karen, although accidentally, that his family is gone. Of course he has multiple flashbacks, but usually when he was asleep, and when he woke up, the thought of revenge overwhelmed the good memories of family. When he opened up to Matt in the graveyard, he was beaten, shot and passed out once he finished talking. But here, he was most aware and awaken. He shares yet another happy moment, but there was no other thoughts in his head. No killing or vengeance need. All in his head was a pretty, warm picture of his family. And that shit hurt him bad. Freshened the wound in his heart and broke him again. He was trying so hard to hold his tear in. I began 'shipping Kastle after this scene.

my well educated friend i love you 🙂 and i invite you to the fold of true believe and submit your will to the most merciful and the most gracious God(ALLAAH in arabic quran and pronounced as ELLOH in hebrew bible and addressed as God universally) for i too was a DEVOTED CHRISTIAN some years ago then after i became an atheist because i was fed of the mythical belief i used to believe in because of the concepts of the scripture(bible) and God 😞 i felt something is wrong some where!!!! so i very deeply studied and investigated on the comparative religions that are being followed all around the world and their scriptures and i entered into a crystal clear and also logically distinguish faith and that is islam !! People deny the existence of God cause they ask how can we believe in God when we haven't seen the outer appearance of God !!? my beloved friend how can any one see the almighty all powerful creator of the entire universe with our naked eyes when we humans are unable and weak to look at the crouching sun at a gaze!! ?? and in this life with our bodily vision nor created things would be able bear up the divine unique appearance of God !! my well educated friend! if you want to understand the greatness God look at God's creations !! look at your own body ,how wonderful and how miraculous the way it's has been created and programmed!! think my beloved think !!. Look at the holy quran that consist of words of God alone that has been revealed unto the earth more than 1500 years ago all praise be to God alone when there were no high technologies were implemented yet holy quran mention very recently discovered many scientific advanced facts including embryology space science ,etc and about some facts that are yet to to be discover in near future are also mentioned unimaginably yet miraculously nearly 1500 years ago without the help of any high technologies!!!while the scientists are unable to break through even by using very latest high tech equipment !!!who can produce such a miracle, a book full of miracles other than ALLAH !!! and God say in the holy quran in Sura 4:82 "If [Quran] had been from other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction"!! and almighty God challenge anyone who reject to believe in the existence of God by pulling out any contradiction or any mistake from this divine book of God(quran) and if you fail to take up the challenge and yet start to disbelieve in the existence of god then its an unchangeable catastrophe you had earned from your own hands and its really a very unpleasant experience when you realize its too late!! 😞 my friend i love you all and if want to obtain a eternal life with mind blowing unimaginable, unheard, unseen paradise you better submit your will to one and only God(ALLAAH in arabic quran , pronounced as ELOH in hebrew bible and addressed as God universally ) before its too late and these are some of the mythical based beliefs some people believe in all around the world as their saviors kzread.info/dash/bejne/o4V_1NiufdnMl7A.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/d5hpu9lraZXOcrg.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZZubydl_dK-wkdo.html

In the new daredevil series that got canned, they killed Karen and Foggy off screen and the series was supposed to be more of a procedural drama with a little action here and there. That law and order vibe was clearly a shit idea. But Karen is the cornerstone of Daredevil and even more so for the Punisher. You can tell Frank doesn't care for anyone outside of a very small core group even the people he saves aren't people he gets invested in. I dunno if love is the right word but he definitely cares about Karen more than anyone else. She's been there to help him, call him on his bullshit and keep him attached to the world. So killing her off not only robs him of that dynamic but cmon she's a great character. Thankfully that series will never air

As someone with a lot of firearms experience, I see where Frank is coming from. If you watch the hospital scene you'll notice that he actually pauses several times so he doesn't hit bystanders. When it comes to his weapon choice, you have to remember that he planted his sniper rifle on the roof before moving in. The shotgun was only a loud threatening menace to get his target to run outside where Frank could take him out with his sniper, which he would have done if Daredevil had not intervened.

Also a shotgun can be loaded with a variety with different shells for different purposes. For example you could use birdshot instad of buckshot or slug to try and prevent overpenetrating walls and accidently hitting someone you were aiming for. Now I don't know any specific details as to how realistic it actually was to use, but I do know that most people suggest using Birdshot for that specific reason in home defense situations. Because it won't make a mess out of your entire house but still packs a good enough punch to take someone out.

He never wanted to kill Grotto with the shotgun. He didn't know where he was so he shot around to wreck mayhem. He basically aimed to NOT hit. He wanted Grotto out of there and in a car or similar to get a clean shot.
