Haha nice one Eddie! I remember being on one of those speedboats absolutely fanging along whilst sitting at the very back with the sun beating down and very hungover 🤣

Poor You Eddie Mate LOL I did the "reverse fixture" - from Koh Lanta to Koh Lipe, and yes that speedboat ride was rocky as hell and I do remember few of the passengers being seasick. I actually only stayed 1 night in Koh Lanta after staying 3 nights in Koh Phi Phi Don, and then the ferry ride to Koh Lanta which wasn't too bad. When we did go from Koh Lanta to Koh Lipe, did you stop at a couple of small islands like Koh Kradan and Koh Muk? Because that is what we did spending 30 minutes on each island. I think my journey from Koh Lanta to Koh Lipe cost me around £32 but I did go around Feb 2018 and the rates were cheaper at the time

I went straight from Lipe to Lanta and was just relieved to get there

Thanks for bringing back happy memories, Eddie. I done a similar trip back in 2019 but on a smaller, less powerful boat but it was still a white knuckle ride. I loved it though. Do you get the impression the boats are trying to outrun each other? That's what I got on my trip.

This is why I don't eat before travelling

Public transport at it's best. If travel is wearing you out, just stay in one spot longer and recuperate, but not in a bamboo mosquito infested shack for £38 per night

Great watch that. Your travelling has been extremely enjoyable to follow. at least one positive out of the boat Journey, maybe the fresh air helped shift that cold you had 😂

Amazing, I would find that a lot of fun, there are some bigger boats that go even faster!😮 Lucky that the sea didn’t look to rough, then you’d be bouncing up and down as well lol

Your minibus journey reminds me of Siem Reap a few weeks ago Ed, those tuk tuk wnkrs want a fortune but don’t even know their own town, and I mean a hotel which is like 200-300 yards away! In Koh Lanta at the moment. Abit quiet late at night but great spot to chill and relax. Takes a few days to figure it out, bit more spread out than other Thai islands. If I see you about will have a beer with ya mate. 👍

Ed that boat ride will be fast, it had 4 Honda high performance BF250 outboards, about £80k to buy in the UK, But i would have loved that boat ride, plus its just another string to your bow, been there done that.

Hi Eddie. Barb just wants to sleep after checking in to hotel after a travel day too. 😄😄. Annoying when cab driver doesnt know how to get there. Happened to us several times. At least you sat at the back upfront is like a roller coaster on speed. Where are you staying Ed long beach is only 10 minutes from the ferry and Klong nin beach about 20 mins. Must be Kantiang down south. Have a good one 👍

I use to like boats and travelling by sea but now i hate it, sometimes i think taxi drivers intentionally seem like they are lost so they can get more money from you or you will give them more, people who don't travel have no idea how mentally tiring it can get they they think its all relaxation and enjoyment all the time, rest up Ed save it for Phuket we all cant wait yo see it!

I thought the same as you on first impression of Koh Lanta Ed. I couldn´t decide if it was really a run-down shanty town, or if this was part of it´s rustic charm. Nevertheless, check out the reggae Bar on the beachfront, nice atmosphere - pre-Covid - and they used to have good bands on.

The first thing you must always learn is to sit at the front of the boat . If you sit at the back and somebody get sick you get sprayed with it and you're ended up getting sick also . Do you want puke on you ! Lol

I stated from day one the Wacky Weed was going to be a major problem for reasons that are now becoming obvious!! The people whom seem to promote this product either have financial interests in this or have not experienced the side effects of this now accepted Drug!!!! Would anyone let your child take a ride on or in a taxi with the driver who's just pulled a Bong or two??? Some how I don't think so!!!! Thanks Eddy for being on the same page!!!

I feel for you!….I did similar on a 6 person speedboat out of Pattaya with two crazy young thai guys as crew……only 45 minutes but puked all the way…..lot lot rougher than this!!

Had the not so fun boat ride from Hua Hin to Pattaya as they were handing out sick bags and sea sick tablets made it but that night no partying as still getting over the rocking motion.

You did the right thing sitting at the back, in rough seas thats the bit that moves about the least.

I just looked up those Honda 250 boat engines as they looked too big to be 250cc.... They are... they each push out 250BHP, so that thing had 1000 horse power pushing it.... no wonder it went fast.. minor matter....

That speedboat journey was horrendous no thanks. Do you never use google maps eddy? I couldn't imagine not traveling without it now. You can mark down all your points of interest on it.. bars, clubs, restaurants etc and of course use it as a GPS I've travelled all over the world using it for years. It's not perfect nothing is but it's a must-have tool for traveling mate
