DARDA - HYDRAULIC ROCK AND CONCRETE SPLITTERS in Action

Ғылым және технология

Splitting Cylinders are handheld demolition devices, which
controllably split material with the use of hydraulic pressure. Above all they convince, when larger conventional demolition devices are ruled-out because they produce dust, flying debris, vibrations, noise and possibily exhaust fumes.
-Enormous splitting force up to 413 tons
-Dust free and near silent operation
-Vibration free
-Light weight
-Precision work
-Always controllable
-For use in close quarters and hard to access places.
-Easy handling

    Have used these when I was concrete cutting in Darwin it's such an impressive bit of kit the concrete or rock only makes minimal sound when it cracks. The sound of the 3 phase hydraulic pack is the loud bit

    I agree that the drilling part isn't quiet and dust free, but quiet compressors do exist and with quiet I mean VERY quiet. Those compressors use a compressor similar to those found in fridges (actually you can use a old fridge compressor to make a low budget quiet compressor), the downside is that they are expensive and have low debit (high debit versions use several compressors making them very expensive).

    They work great in rock quarries when you're trying to not make a mess. the worst part is the jackhammer that drills the hole. THAT thing makes a racket and tons of dust. Still, it does make for a controlled break and you can adjust it easily for the grain of the stone.

    In reinforced concrete it loosens it, however you still need a way to actually remove the concrete like a jackhammer or a pry bar or a machine.

    How do you drill the hole without noise, vibration or dust?

  • @DardaGmbH

    @DardaGmbH

    5 жыл бұрын

    If you drill your holes by a traditional drill hammer you of course cannot avoid noise, vibration and dust. But, there are alternative drilling methods possible: Try to use a core drilling machine or apart from that work with a dust extractor. And the Splitter itself does not produce any dust, vibration or noise.

    I am sceptical about the "noiseless" claim.. Surely the sound of the material being separated would generate some noise? The mechanism itself being silent is understandable, but the rock being silent is not.

  • @A1986Ge1995

    @A1986Ge1995

    7 жыл бұрын

    SterTheDer like Swollen said: it is not noiseless nor dustless. You need to drill holes and the best method is with a jackhammer. A jackhammer is very noisy and it generates lots of dust, you going to need ppe for the workers and dust control for the public if you are working in a urban area, the compressor used to power the jackhammer is noisy. The power unit for the pump can be electric or air, if is electric is rather quiet, if is air then is very noisy, almost like a chainsaw. The quietest part of the operation is the material splitting.

    Sorry DardaGmbH but your description of the tool is not accurate. Part of your description says : dust free, well is not dust free because you have to drill a hole to insert the wedge in the wall or rock and if an air hammer is used then there is plenty of dust generated and I can say that from personal experience.

    I feel that the description is not accurate because a traditional drill hammer is the cheapest and fastest way to drill the holes necessary to split the rock or concrete. Using a core drill would add a significant amount of time to the process (time is money) and a dust extractor would also add more time and money expenditure to the process especially in reinforced concrete . As for the splitting operation I have to agree with the description in regard to the vibration claim, however as for the noise, not, because if a pneumatic unit is used the splitter is very loud and in a urban setting a mean to reduce the noise would be necessary. After having said all of that I have to say this: using the splitter is a BLAST LOL

    usman mohammad give me a block of rebar reinforced concrete this device and either a good oxygen cutter or hydraulic shears and i will show you exactly how easy this could take apart reinforced concrete. short of explosives there is currently little else that can be done to reinforced concrete to dismantle it in one go. most cases will have to work with each component separately first taking apart the concrete and then the rebar. this can deal with concrete without the worries about dust and noise and you don't have to be physically next to the device while it operates. it also looks cheap and safe enough to outclass most other methods. in an urban situation this would have clear benefits- use of explosives to dismantle buildings is loud, requires extreme precision and can go terribly wrong.
