DaranEner NEO 2000W Power Station Review

Ойын-сауық

My active interest in all things "off-grid" led me to accepting the offer from DaranEner to review this portable power station.
Full transparency: I received the DaranEner NEO 2000W Power Station and the SP200 Solar Panels at no out of pocket cost. I agreed to do an honest review while declining any contracted agreement with the company. I have not and will not make a commission off any sales, but I will continue to provide you with sales codes when I can.
There is a great sale going on right now! That and the discount code can save you hundreds of dollars!
Supersale date: 2023-06-12 00:00:00 - 2023-06-27 00:00:00 (GMT-8)

Supersale highlights: $700 USD on all NEO2000 stand-alone and NEO2000 with solar panel products
My thoughts are very positive. The only drawback I can think of to point out, is one that is unavoidable with this type of power station, and that is that it's fairly heavy at just under 57 pounds. If you have back issues, it does have two handles making it easy for a two person carry. This thing did everything I asked of it and didn't blink. The ability to take this amount of power with me pretty much anywhere and have ample power for my needs is a great thing. From running a 20W laser engraver to charging battery packs for power tools, and even running a power tool directly, I wasn't let down. It is a battery, so things must be kept in the perspective of its limitations.
If no grid power is available to recharge, the solar panels do a fine job at doing so. I only had a 200W set of panels and charged it 25% in 3.5 hours... but this will accept up to 600W in solar charging, and solar panels can be set up in circuit.
Bottom line: Yes, I do recommend this if it fits your needs and budget. Yes, I would buy one with my own money. I will not, however, go in debt for such a thing, and neither should you... not in this economy. Do take advantage of the sale if it fits your budget, $700 off is a great deal!

You definitely peaked my interest! It looks like a great generator. I’m interested, but I could not find it on Amazon. Is this a new product that just hit the market?

Good evening, Rod. You could get into advertising. I love your location and the wide range of demonstrated uses. Very nicely done. I can hear your gears turning regarding future uses. Like power carving in the wood. No need to sweep the floors. And who wouldn't enjoy working outside? Sunshine, campfire and full electric power. I will be tuning in to see more possibilities. Thanks for this fun review. God bless and Semper Fi PS, if I lived in your neighborhood I would ask Dad if I could go over to Rod's house to play.

Rod, we just placed our order!!! Not only did we save on the generator, we got $35.00 off the solar panels. To be honest, I don’t remember you mentioning the panels were sold separately. Btw, your promotion code was another nice savings. All totaled, we ended up paying under $1,300.00. Super stoked. Thank you, for the demonstration! We were so close to buying that other one we chatted about. Be blessed Rod and, hugs all around! 😉 ❤️

Rod, my bad. 😞 You did mention the solar panels within the first few minutes of the video. I guess I was so excited I wasn’t listening. I have a tendency of looking at something pretty and shiny and, all else around me goes dim. Lol. Anyway, sorry about that comment. Paul and, I will let you know what we think once it’s all hooked up. Question, was yours all powered up right out of the box?

@@robinshay9180 No worries! No, they ship it with 0% battery charge. It takes under two hours to fully charge it via wall plug in, and then they want it to remain plugged in for an extra 30 minutes. Super easy. Just beware of the 57 pounds! Be careful with your backs!! Feel free to contact me via FB message anytime. I'll respond as soon as I see it!

...very cool...looks like they thought of everything!...thanks for the review...👍 You may already know this, but V(voltage) x I(current) = W(wattage). So the laptop and laser drawing 55W was pulling about half an amp. The two batteries drawing near 155W drew just under 1.5amps... At 2000W, max current is about 18 amps...that's a lot of laptops, lasers, and batteries!!!...🍻 Matt

That looks like something my older brother, living on an island in a lake, 6 months of the year, would find really useful. He has solar but his backup generator is gas. Seems like this could be just up his way of living.

Question: While using the solar charging, can you draw energy off the unit? My (now elderly) Jackery is one or the other, and not both (which is, apparently, down to getting a sophisticated enough Battery Management System card small enough).

  • @RHumphrey

Affirmative. I meant to show that, but the solar panels weren't soaking up much power in the woods when I did just that. They showed an input of less than 30W when I had hooked them up toward the end of the time I was lasering in the woods... but I apparently didn't turn on the camera. ugh!

While the Laser was working, with the computer in use as well, the display showed 36+ hours of available use on the display, in the video here: 3:34 So this could easily handle a craft show for a couple days, I'd think. Thanks! (PS the laser in use was a 20W... I'd think a 3D printer would use less or about the same draw?)
