Danny Trejo on Spending 1 Year on Death Row for Attacking Prison Guard (Part 6)

Ойын-сауық

Part 7: • Danny Trejo on Not Bei...
Part 5: • Danny Trejo: 10 People...
part 1: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz44B.
----
In this clip, Danny Trejo speaks on how he took money from inmates to protect them from getting raped in prison, noting that despite the fact that people from the outside would call that extortion, it was a matter of protection on the inside that was desperately needed. From there, he reflects on how he was once accused for throwing a rock at guard during a prison riot, leaving him to be facing the death penalty by the age of 24. Eventually, Trejo was spared when nobody else in the prison would cooperate, allowing him to finish the famous tattoo of a woman on his chest prior to his release from prison.

I understand that many people are in prison for wrong doings, but there is no excuse for the conditions and lack of protection for these people. This country should be ashamed of how its lower ranking citizens are treated. Some so called free people are treated just as bad as prisoners; seems like sometimes there is really not much of a difference.

I'm 52 years old and I hope that If I make it to 75 like Danny, that I too will be able to look back on the years where I ultimately turned my life around and left positive influences on others and a legacy of hope and redemption.. that tattoo he has is so iconic and a major piece of what made him. he went to jail and got so much out of being in prison. the coincidence of him getting transferred out of that prison to somewhere else...and the fact that the artist that didn't get to finish it, got transferred also and to the same facility where he was able to finish it. and that tattoo making him a star after being let out early from a damn death sentence. if that wasn't destiny, what the F is? 😊🔥
