It was good at the start, went flat after a few lines, picked it up again, was great at the start of the chorus but, oh my, the second half of the chorus and that scream is the stuff of legend! Thank you, Danny, for one of the most memorable moments from any TV talent show ever.

I never watched American Idol but in 2013 when I was driving to and from work and clinicals I found klove and haven't turned back. The music of Danny Gokey, Colton Dixon and many others have touched not only my life but the lives of my children. God is good!

Why does his religion have anything to do with his vocal performance. So Adam Lambert fans should just be like "You're gay, I'm gay, therefore your vocals are good?" Lol

I finally saw this clip for the first time and was floored by her statement. Considering Dream On is on Aerosmith's first album you can't get much earlier!

He's just unique and amazingly talented, his voice is very versatile. He can be soulful when he wants to be, then totally rock it out like Steven Tyler. He took a risk and nailed it..love it!!! Danny Gokey rocks!!!

Me too. Danny Golky is a much better singer than Adam Lambert any day of the year. But, it's all good God had a plan, and if he had won he'd probably still be under contract to American Idol. God used this show to bring the exposure needed. Adam is like Adam who??? Danny has been a steadily rising light. It's not about fame or fortune...it's about being a light in a dark world. May Danny always remain faithful to the calling of God in his life...as a husband...as a father...and as a wonderful singer and worshiper of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Like a huge star that guest starred on Glee for half a season, was on PLL, lead vocalist for Queen and has several albums that have done literally amazing as well as several tours. Danny has brought many to Christ, or given them the courage to seek healing of their Faith, through his unique gifts. Anyone can preach all day long. Not everyone uses the gifts GOD GAVE THEM to reach the lost. Like Peter, he stepped out of the boat fearful, but in Faith. Look at the positive impact he has now.

This is when Danny lost his chance to make the finale. He failed to realize that it was Kris Allen he needed compete against, not Adam Lambert. Lambert wasn't gonna win when America found out he was gay. Danny Gokey might've won if he didn't pick Dream On on Rock week.

I was actually a big fan of Danny up to this point in the season, but this rendition of Dream On killed my love for him in not even 2 minutes. One of the worst performances I have seen in the history of the show. The scream makes my ears fucking bleed every time.

I don't associate with people who like to party, does that mean I hate them? No, I'm Christian, but do I hate gay people? Absolutely not. In fact, my best friend is gay, and that's not going to stop me from loving him as a person and I'm certainly not going to force my lifestyle on him, but I am also not going to associate myself with the lifestyle he chooses to live, and if he is opened to knowing God, then I will certainly show him that path, but until then, we will continue out lifestyles separately but still lovingly. The same goes for Danny Gokey (and other Christians), he chooses not to associate with people who don't live his lifestyle, and that's okay, he shouldn't be forced to work with someone he doesn't want to associate himself with, especially since he's a freaking Christian artist (heck, I doubt he would work with Justin Bieber if that chance appeared, so I don't see why he should be condemned for not working with Adam). Your generalization is what makes you as much of a bigot as those Christians who go out of their way to spread hate, and intolerant atheists who get offended by every little Christian-related theme that happens to cross their paths are just as disgusting a those hypocritical Christians.

Olivia Piper Robeck Except. the analogy does work, because for Christians, homosexuality is considered a sin, and as Christians, choosing not to accept that part of the teaching would be the same as a Christian not accepting the fact that we should love our neighbors unconditionally, we can't pick and choose what to believe, but we can still love like Jesus loved regardless of sin. Also, I don't personally know anything about Danny Gokey, but last time I heard, he specifically said in an interview that he and Lambert were friends and that they texted each other often, so I don't really know what you're so caught up about.

He was one of the top 2 favorites for that panel along with Adam Lambert that entire season, they loved Danny, they were just being honest and trying to help him. Hell, Simon even said he was pretty sure Danny would still survive that week and he did. The entertainment industry is about taking critique that will ultimately help better you on a daily basis. Hurtful sometimes yes, but helpful in the long run. If you can't do that then you're on the wrong path my friend.

The truth is he tried but it was not that good.
