I walked up to Nicholson in 91 at a Knick/Laker game. He turned and saw me staring . I had scammed some important seat tickets . I said Hi Jack , love your work . He said l love to act . I countered with I'm from New Jersey. He just lit up and talked for about a minute. Nice guy!

It’s so funny how jack and Danny are basically acting soulmates. They starred in quite a handful of films together, they’re friends IRL, they directed each other in their movies and to top it off, they are both from the same regional area in NJ and grew up near each other, though I don’t think they knew each other then until they were starting to work as actors. Danny said he had a cousin who ran a hair parlor and one of Jack’s relatives would come in and brag about his acting talents.

Great movie, and one of the few times when a film was as good as the book that inspired it. The book tells the story through the eyes of the Chief, which is really interesting

I like that - because if I met you, I’d assume it was after the cocktail, but it’s always best when there’s an unexpected story. My former roommate’s cat, “Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen,” (one cat) was a bit too self explanatory :-) My bequeathed was named Maynard after the singer from Tool; he knows his name and could never change it.

Sweet story..RIP Martini.....Our Pets really do become Family! Danny's character really was a tough play if people really view what it all entailed to make it work in the movie. I'm sure that can be said for many of the "Other Characters"....NEST will always be in my Top 10...by the way, the book is word for word like the movie!! Cheers

When Nicholson left Jersey in ‘54 to move to California, Springsteen was only 5 years. By the time the E Street Band formed, Nicholson had already been living and working in LA for 18 years. In fact, he would have been filming The Last Detail around that time roughly.

Carl Ryan There’s less of an age gap between DeVito and Springsteen, but DeVito was already in Hollywood a few years by the time Springsteen got started, much less recognized. I mean I’m no expert but the timeline would suggest that they likely didn’t cross paths in the old days in Jersey.
