STORYLINE:
The new King and Queen of Denmark, King Frederik X and Queen Mary, arrived at the Danish parliament on Monday as their first official engagement.
On Sunday, Denmark’s prime minister proclaimed Frederik X as king after his mother Queen Margrethe II formally signed her abdication.
Margrethe, 83, is the first Danish monarch to voluntarily relinquish the throne in nearly 900 years.
Denmark’s monarchy traces its origins to 10th-century Viking king Gorm the Old, making it the oldest in Europe and one of the oldest in the world.
Today the royal family’s duties are largely ceremonial.

The Danish spare doent seem to have any problems,a v e ry professional man.
I don't know how Queen Margrethe, especially at HER age, can be comfortable riding in the back of that new SUV. I find the seats to be like sitting on a 2x4 with leather nailed to it. It creates a lot of pain. I'd sure love to have that Rolls Royce the King pulled up in, that's for sure!
The 6 Royals invited to our Parliament ( Folketinget ) on that day were the ones, who can officially act as Head of State. King Frederik, Queen Mary, Crown Prince Christian, Queen Margrethe, Prince Joachim and Princess Benedikte. They were accompanied into Folketinget by members of the political leadership of Folketinget. King Frederik by the Speaker of the House ( Søren Gade ), and the others by ranking members of leadership ( according to mandates they have in Folketinget ). According to protocol destiny had it, that Queen Margrethe was accompanied by Karsten Hønge, a left leaning proclaimed republican! He acknowledges though, that Monarchy has strong support in Denmark. I am sure they got along just fine. Both known for the same kind of dry humour!

It’s weird not long ago you didn’t hear anything of the danish royal family but in recent years especially since The Queen “Elizabeth” died you hear a lot more. Maybe monarchy is becoming a thing again. 🤷🏽♂️

I always disliked the fact that Frederik gets out od the car on the sidewalk side and stands there to wait for Mary who gets out on the traffic side. Any gentleman would go around the car to pick up his wife. The way it is done here seems to tell people that the wife is unimportant. Not a very Royal way to be.
