The dude who got up and walked out while the verdict was read is facing felony charges after authorities say he threatened the court following the reading of the verdict Thursday in the Daniel Riley trial. St. Louis prosecutors on Friday charged 34-year-old Erick M. Buntyn with one count of tampering with a judicial officer, a class D felony. Court and jail records do not show him to be in custody. A no-bond warrant has been issued for his arrest. According to a St. Louis Police probable cause statement, immediately following the reading of the verdict Buntyn had an outburst in the courtroom and walked into the hallway, where he continued to curse and threaten the court. “While in the hallway, a witness deputy sheriff heard the defendant state: ‘(Expletive) the judge and the jury, they are all racists, if I see any of them outside, I’m going to (expletive) kill them,’” the statement reads. This is weird, the Judge is a black man, and the victim is half black, with a black Father. Safe to say that regardless of color, Riley needed to he held accountable for his actions, especially considering he was driving without a valid license on top of the terrible accident that nearly killed the victim.

The lesser included offense which is an automatic not guilty if convicted of the higher included offense. If he were to be convicted on both in Missouri would be considered to be double jeopardy, so the higher of the two penalties is the one that stands If he is found guilty of it. If he is found not guilty of it, the lower or lesser included offense is still in play for the jury. The higher of the two penalties is at minimum the lesser included offense x2 x a non-specific multiplier based on aggravating circumstances. There are no mitigating circumstances with this type of offense, they would be and play for the lesser included which is already been found not applicable or guilty in this matter.

Oh and of course the guys he fired at were trying to jump him with weapons of their own, and he didn't fire a single shot until he was in immediate danger. But yeah that's totally the same as this guy who has a criminal history, was out on bond, had violated said bond ONE HUNDRED times, was scheduled for court the very next day, operated a vehicle without a license AND under the influence....... Which led to a crash causing serious long term life changing injuries to an innocent person who was just minding their own business. Yup the similarities are just adding up aren't they? 🙄

Just out of curiosity, how many people do you know on a first name basis who lived their entire childhood and teenage hood with teens as star athletes and had their legs taken from them in the cusp of adulthood? In an act of violence which was no fault of their own? I don't think you really understand the impact of mobility and what I can do both physically and mentally to a person, especially a younger one who is on the higher end of the activity scale. When somebody moves vigorously all day long to not moving at all, that intake needs to go somewhere. Considering she was a prospect for collegiate athletics, I would have to say that your comment doesn't really hold any weight in her community or the people that know her. By the way, I don't even live in your country. Speaking to you from Canada here. No ties to the family or the area. But injuries happen all over the world and everybody should know somebody by now who has been affected by a catastrophic loss like this to a limb or to in this case.
