Naroditsky and Howell are BY FAR the two best chess commentators in the world today. A perfect blend of humor, good-naturedness, insight, likability and passion for the game. While they're incredibly skilled at chess, they never talk down to the audience. And even after you've spent several hours in their company, it never gets old. We're very very lucky to have them both.

Interesting how one tournament changed the narrative for Gukesh. 32:03 Danya is saying Gukesh rarely has massive failures. Really? He dumped 40 elo points end of the last year trying to win an event in order to qualify for Candidates. 🤣🤣 He is a guy take risks, burns bridges to go for wins, goes on 8/8 in olympiad and doesn't takes a draw which would have ensured team gold and loses, youngest to 2750, GM at 12. You don't become these by being solid. This candidates was exception and being at 2730-2750 level for a year and half must have helped him. Interesting how narrative is being copy pasted.

19:20 This kind of thing happened with Fabi in the crucial game vs Nepo in the final round as well. Fabi thought for only about 2 minutes and played Ka2 on move 41, ceding the advantage he had built up. Considering this move came right after he had played a series of quick moves to make the time control, he likely hadn't calmed down and calculated accurately like one should on move 41.

I think this is a different thing, since realizing there’s a difference between Ka2 and Ka1 is extremely difficult even with ample time to think
