Before this fight John Love KOs in the 1st round Future World Heavyweight Boxing Contender Dillian Whyte with a perfect jumping knee to the chin in the final of the GB 🇬🇧 K1 Grand Prix… Dillian had knocked out his 1st two opponents in the tournament. We all know how well Dillian has gone on to do in the Pro Boxing Ranks. John was young & overawed by the whole event & venue of theJapanese K1 Grand Prix in Tokyo. He was initially on the undercard but got put into the Tournament proper at the last minute. For a young Man to get in with a monster like Ghita took some balls. He was a massive underdog in every sense of the word. He tried but he froze on the night. I was John’s trainer & have the utmost respect for him. Daniel Ghita went on to knock out his next two opponents by 1st round KO’s to win the tournament outright. One opponent was future Glory Super Heavyweight Champion Dutchman Rico Verhoeven. So all in all John was an apprentice Joiner from a small town in North Wales up against Full time Pro Super Heavyweights… He’s now a joiner by trade… I know what I’m talking about…. I’ve fought in K1 Legend in Nagoya @ The Rainbow Dome in 1994 I took the fight on 2 weeks notice & knowing I had a stress fracture in my right fibula. But it was “The K1” today’s equivalent of the UFC… I lost on points to Taiei Kin over 5 rounds. I went on to become 2 Weight World WKA Kickboxing Champion when the WKA was the most Prestigious Kickboxing Association in the World. So I think I’ve earned the right to comment.

Badr never fought against Ghita. I know Badr. Talked with him several times - nice and friendly guy in real life. As a matter of fact, just the other day I talked to Mike Passenier his coach/trainer. I train at Mike's Gym on Saturdays. Next time shall I ask Mike why Badr never fought against Ghita in his prime.
