Henry is forgetting the fact that Tom injured himself last year headlining a card infront of his home town, was out for a year, came back and smoked Tybura and then took a title fight on 2 weeks notice with health issues going into the fight and starched Pavlovich in 69 seconds. How could you not be emotional with the amount of relief in that moment?

If Khamzat was getting the better of Sean in the gym (I believe DC on that), that doesn't mean he is the harder fight, it only means it is a hard fight because Khamzat was getting the best of him. Dricus might also have gotten the best of Sean too in the same scenario. One thing that fighters don't realize; microphone callouts are more important than being a good fighter. You cannot ever reach your career potential in the UFC unless you learn how to call your own shots on the microphone. And it's not fun, but then again, neither is fighting. Both are a learned skill. Aspinall should have called out Stipe Miocic as soon as Pavlovich hit the canvas. You cannot squander your only opportunity to be on live TV. You cannot be silent in your post fight speech--you cannot. The Tom vs. Stipe fight is the only fight.

DC right about Stipe and Jon imo. And legacy fights are great. As fan, I don't like a legacy title fight where the champ is gonna retire after, but just my preference. If a Champ wants to ride off into sunset, I prefer them to face a few younger challengers at least. Just imo tho. Jon should have at least fought Tom or Pavlovich imo, in addition to his dominant performance over Gane. At least 1 other challenger would have made a big difference for me. I don't feel this is hating, I just want to see good fights w consensus GOAT before he retires. Obviously Jon will go down as GOAT for most. But for HW, beating Gane(lost to Francis) and Stipe(last fight was KO loss to Francis in mar 21), I would like more.

Henry speaks as a fan/as himself. He doesn't work for the UFC. He is mostly spot on in his criticisms. The comparisons to Henry winning the undisputed titles compared to Tom winning the interim title is an out of pocket comparison. Makes 0 sense. Jones is 15 - 0 in championship fights, and is the realest champ in the UFC on the roster. Until he beats him in the divison as is, then the celebration isn't complete.

Jones’ injury and stage of career makes fills the whole situation with too many unknowns. The only sensible thing is to make Aspinall the champ now and Jones can have a crack back whenever he wants.

DC, just one little adjustment to your idea. Gotta sweeten it up a bit more for Stipe to take on Tom. Make it for Undisputed Title at UFC300. Jon to be there to relinquish it to the winner but will get to fight him when he gets back. That'll make him 2 time HW champion. For Stipe, a chance to cement his HW GOAT by being 3 Time HW Champion. If he does win, then the Jones v Miocic card will truly be hot. Now, it kinda feels lame

All respect to Aspinall , great performance and gracious form. That being said , interim titles are outside of but too frequently the norm . Jones won the vacated belt becoming heavyweight champ . He and Stipe , should've fought while they both were champs . Jon would've been champ champ. Now water under the bridge . However , if Aspinall wants to be the man , you gotta beat the man. True Jon and Stipe do not need the belt for their bout to be legacy bout. But the belt raises the stakes and validate future options should either choose to go forward. Aspinall and the younger heavyweights bring life to the division and may be the changing of the guard . Again , to be the man , you gotta beat the man . On a side note . Make those damn interim belts pewter , leaving the gold the standard.

You can’t really do that considering the man is out for almost a year. Tom has said before he wants Jon Jones, but we can’t have it atm. Not only that, if Tom does want to fight either Stipe or Jon, it’s all contingent on them, not on Tom. So it’s not even his choice, I want Jon to retire, to ride off in the sunset with his accolades, but you can’t hold up a division because of that, not only that, if they’re retiring anyway, then the belt is useless and will be vacated yet again.

Jon Jones is not P4P #1. That nigga fought one dude then his pec gave up on him. Now he's out for damn near a year and already hasn't fought in 8 months and by the time he's back he'll have been inactive for a year and a half. He's holding onto that belt for dear life, and still refuses to fight anybody, but an old man. Jon Jones is CURRENTLY P4P #4 at best below Islam (#1), Volk (#2), and Leon (#3). Volk is way more dominant at FW than Leon is at WW.
