To anyone who has lost faith in hindi cinema, I tell them to watch this movie. Dangal is one of the best films to come out of India in the past ten years 💯

This is one of the best movies that Bollywood came up with at that time. However, the movie gave a REALLY bad portrayal of the wrestling coach, and portrayed him as an opportunistic and greedy person, keeping Mahavir Singh Phogat out to gain fame on his own. This bad portrayal led to the trolling and cyberbullying of the actual coach of Geeta Phogat after the movie came out. In reality, the coach clashed with Mahavir Singh Phogat, because he was using the techniques of traditional old-school wrestling (strength-based tactics) for modern mat-based wrestling (which needs a mix of strength and innovative technique). Mahavir Singh Phogat was training Geeta in separate sessions which began to exhaust Geeta before she could train with the actual coach. This led to a clash of ideologies between the coach and Mahavir Singh Phogat, and he stopped Mahavir from over-exerting Geeta during her training. That was the actual story, but this movie twisted into one of greed and ego. It is really unfair of the movie to do that.

@@meltherecafe2394 I am not talking about justice, I am just saying that when a director adopts a story into a biopic, he should take care not to just paint someone as evil, just because it looks good in the story. Embellishing some details to give an emotional drama is one thing, but outright painting someone as a bad person (when he is not), is downright evil.

The coach did have some differences with Mahavir Singh Phogat, but it wasn't about "evil coach wanting the glory", it was about developing technique-based fighting vs traditional strength-based wrestling, a difference of opinion which is prevalent among different coaches themselves.

@@prabhatsourya3883 True, infact that coach has recently admitted in an interview that he is collecting funds to make a movie in which he will show how actually he taught the real skills and had Mr Phogat not interrupted, the Phogat sisters would have easily bagged multiple Olympic golds, infact he is planning to reveal that actually Geeta babita were his own daughters whom Mr Phogat kidnapped in their infancy and raised as his own cause he was hoping that the blood of coach in them wud surely make them great wrestlers one day and man he was not wrong. Waiting eagerly for the movie it's called Jungle (to rhyme with Dangal). The title track is: "Bhed ki hahakar se unchi Sher ki ek dahaad hai pyaare, In Jungle Jungle, Khargosh ki daud se tez yahan Khachuye ek zidd hai pyaare, In Jungle Jungle, Oo hiranon ki abaadi jab, Khub barh jaati hai , Sher phir aata do chaar ko khaata Balance ban jaati hai Arara rara rara, Jangal Jangal"

This movie was an emotional rollercoaster when I watched it first.

I was so lucky to watch Dangal in INOX ... Out of the world experience. It was my first movie in theatre

This movie truly conveys the stereotypical thinking of people in our country towards, even to this day there are mobile areas which considers women are only made for household works. I really love this for the fact that it dealt with so many topics at a time altogether like Women Empowerment, Child marriage, Equality..the movie is surely a treat to eyes and definitely one of my all time favourite movie from Aamir. Would love to see you reacting to Secret Superstar too.

The problem is people don't want to explore new information beyond what they are told by forefathers and a lack in goverments initiatives. If the educated minority in our country start pushing more educational reforms maybe there's some hope.

Even though I love this movie so much, I hate the idea of passing your unfulfilled dreams on to your children and put a burden on them. Also, girls have to work hard if they want their father to be proud of them. Like you need to do something to deserve your parents’ love. It’s not an unconditional love. It’s unhealthy. Parents should love their children no matter what. Like, can’t you just be proud of your daughters just for who they are without having to do wrestling?
