I'm a chronic dandruff sufferer finally got relief from essential oils. neem, tea tree, garlic, rosemary, etc work really well and u don't have to use alot. my scalp was worse than his (if u can believe it ) now I hardly ever have flakes or itching.

I take about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and warm it so its liquid. Then i add the essential oils about 10 drops of each. Stir well and let it resolidify. I rub my fingertips on the resolidified mixture, then massage into my scalp nightly. I wash weekly, and started to see dramatic decrease i dandruff in the first month.

TRY THIS: My Family Fixed SEVERLY ITCHY SCALP ISSUES - Naturally: 1. Wash your hair with Sulfur 8 shampoo, using a silicone scalp massager. 2. Let it dry naturally. Be sure to blot the excess water with a brand new towel or one that you have never used on your hair / body before. 3. That night, SMOTHER your entire head with Vaseline - wrap it in a scarf and sleep that way. Why? The easiest, most 'natural' way to kill the yeast / candida and anything else that is living on your scalp which is what is probably happening - in a matter of minutes - is to simply smother it - NO OXYGEN means no ability to breathe, thrive, grow or survive. 4. The next morning, mix bentonite clay, apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil (whatever ration you want...it really does not matter) into a bowl (do not use a metal spoon when mixing clay - use plastic or wood only). SMOTHER your scalp with the clay, let it dry then just sit under the shower and let it rinse off until the water runs clear. You may need to do this a few times to get all of the Vaseline off of your scalp and hair - but you'll see that you've just 'killed' the yeast when not one hair follicle itches. Repeat weekly, or as often as you need to and be sure to hot wash with white vinegar and baking soda all of the bedding, towels, clothing and anything else that it may be living on. (fyi never mix bleach and vinegar). We tried this - and it literally solved the problem overnight. If there is a new issue we just repeat the process. Good luck everyone, and God Bless!

I have two strand twists in my hair and plan to semi- freeform them. but rn in struggling with dandruff is their a specific type you recommend or could it be just any ol shampoo? also I noticed that you were using a pink extra wide tooth comb us that recommend to prevent unraveling? once again, thanks for the video!

+Donovan Ingram The type of shampoo definitely matters. You need to use a clarifying shampoo and if it is really bad a Medicare shampoo as well. I shampoo locs using the Scalp Revitalizer to prevent unraveling. They will be available in my shop starting in January.

I have horrible dandruff and longer afro hair. It started to create patches that lifted up off my scalp and I work in a corporate office and didn't want to appear unpleasant or hygiene inadequate. So I washed my hair and all my starter locs came apart. I even tried just working the shampoo/conditioner in from the root still just lifted. I want locs so bad, but idk how to care for it with my dandruff. Just going to start over and try again.

Let it grow. I had shoulder length natural hair but when my traditional locs were started using the palm roll method, they shrunk to mid-ears. Nine years plus later and they now touch my butt. I have very coily natural hair but I think shrinkage is just a part of the process. Maybe starting with two-strand twists might result in retaining more length but IDK. BTW I am not a loctician giving professional advice, only someone with mature locs.

+Muriel Rose You should really try to avoid using nails to scratch the scalp, it can be too abrasive and do more harm than good. A normal Afro pick might work, I've never tried. I've only ever used the ergonomically designed Scalp Revitalizer because it contours to the scalp of the head and doesn't lift the locs up a the root.
