Danceland at Manitou Beach

Dancing has always been popular at Manitou Beach. In the 1920’s, this community had three dance halls!
At that time, it was the most popular summer resort on the Prairies; even rivalling the Banff Hot Springs!
In 1928, Moose Jaw entrepreneur Wellington White built Danceland.
Famous for its maple dance floor built on a cushion of horsehair-one of the few remaining dance floors of its kind in Canada!
It's still open year-round and if you attend an event on the weekends, watch your head on the roof… The floor still bounces like a trampoline!
