It's been SOOOO long since I saw a LOONA reaction. They truly were the PRIME of girl group choreography. Thank you for this!! I HOOPE you do more! Loona are THE choreography girl group.

LOONA has been one of the groups in kpop that is known for their dance with the way they play with their numbers and the concept they tackle with it. If you want to explore more, i suggest that you watch butterfly as it is their most popular dance and the performance that put them on the map. It was influenced by contemporary and the play on shapes and numbers along with their synchronousisty(dunno if that's a word) was amazing

27:43 btw that twinkle she did while she said eclipse is a step she already did in her solo debut called eclipse, so these choreos also have motifs and callbacks to other choreos which makes loona so cool

I have been hearing that they have some overlap within their choreography and it's made me so curious about it from a marathon standpoint! Hopefully one day!

"Were Loona often compared to Everglow?" Everglow debuted in March 2019, Loona as a group debuted August 2018, so they were active at the same time. I don't think they were compared often or at all even. To me Everglow is very much girl crush, power, attitude, and their music is very catchy, energetic pop. Loona on the other hand put much more attention to (varying) concepts. Their lore is probably (one of) the most extensive out there. And their music also varies with it imo. It just so happened that this particular song (PTT) can feel a little closer to Everglow's (First for example). Thanks for reacting to Loona and your indepth analysis as always. Loona's dance practice to Butterfly is one of the best in kpop imo, so definitely check that one out. I'm also curious if you've ever reacted to G-Friend? They were known for their synchronicity and it's always special to witness, even if their concept (especially in their early days) is "innocent, dreamy". But then again, music-wise, they have been compared to Dreamcatcher, if they would do a cute concept 😅

I loved hearing your analysis! If you ever react to Loona again, please don't watch the MV and dance performance off the official Loona youtube page as fans are still boycotting their old company due to their severe mistreatment and financial abuse of the girls. Fans have reuploaded all their videos elsewhere on youtube as well as various google drives that can be found online. After gaining freedom from Blockberry Creative, the girls are now active as two groups of 5 and two soloists (though they maintain that Loona is not officially disbanded). Loossemble, one of the splinter groups, is coming on the 15th and they have been really hyping up their new choreography. I hope you will have the chance to tune in!

Edit edit: I stand corrected by a zillion comments, they haven't disbanded lol All the girls in the Dance Practice were in LOONA. They have since disbanded and are now in ARTMS, Loosemble, Chuu is solo, I think Yves is solo?...I am sure I am missing someone somewhere, but yeah, they are no longer a group. There were all 12 of them, though. Flip That was their last TT. Edit: IIRC the instrument is inspired by Indian culture? A lot of Indian kpop fans were SUPER chuffed about this release bc they said it was hella Bollywood inspired.

Loona never disband. They are currently promoting in different companies but hope to come back together as ot12 Loona when their schedules allow

they havent disbanded. loona is still here. all the members have said theyre all still loona.

the new groups could be seen as subunits, as they havent officially disbanded. they did leave their original company but technically they’re still in the same group

so happy you liked loona! theyre my all time favorite groups and they truly neverr disapoint in performing or having complex choreos, i remember one of their choreos has over 50+ formations that never are shown more than once!

@@jess_holyfieldim late but just wanted to say that im pretty sure the choreo theyre talking about is actually “so what”! if not, “so what” still made some noise for having a ton of formation changes. it’s one of my favorite underrated loona choreos. if u see this i hope someone requests it so u get the chance to react !!
