Edwards don’t have many options, he beat Usman twice, he one-sidedly beat Covington who didn’t deserve the shot to begin with. Shavkat hasn’t faced a top contender, so this basically leaves Belal unless Leon wants to go for double champ status.

Belal in my eyes hasn’t earned it due to the abundance of underperforming performances meanwhile I believe Shavkat should leap frog due to his dominance as of late. The UFC hates the fact that Leon Edwards is the champion right now.. having Belal as champion, should that happen, would be no different..these guys are not marketable. Nobody wants to see them fight..they're both boring as hell. Shavkat Rakhmonov is the future of the UFC welterweight division and deserves the next title shot.. either way, he'd run through both those clowns and the rest of the division with ease. 💯

Shavkat is such a boring wrestler and no one wants to see Belal as a champion. This division is arguably the most boring division in the UFC.

Belal should have to fight Ngannou in a boxing match first. If we gets through that we can talk.

If the UFC wasnt a business and it was purely based off sports performance, Belal deserves it. But since the UFC is indeed a business, that changes everything. Belal is a ratings killer. Imagine him representing the weight class as the champion. That could send the UFC into bankrupcy. They will need to lick Conors balls and get him to fight 5x next year to make up for the loss they will suffer at the hands of the least interesting title holder in UFC history, Belal Muhammad. So you have to take into consideration the UFC is a business and they happen to host MMA fights. Always think of it that way. So they need put together fights for people who deserve it, but they also need to take care of their business. So they are walking a fine line. Because if they just only pushed fighters who have a fan base it destroys their credibility and they will lose money. But if they focus purely on that, they will lose money as well because they are leaving money on the table by not putting a guy in there to fight that can make them good money even if they dont 100 percent deserve it. Look at Colby. You can make the argument to some degree that Colby deserves it. Hes in the top 3 ranking and he dominated Masvidal. Of course the argument isnt very strong and Belal would be a better argument. But you can to some degree justify it. He went toe to toe with 1 of the best welterweights being Usman and some people thought he won the first fight. So people bought into it and they got good viewership. It wasnt enough to destroy their credibility. People were debating back and forth. So the UFC is playing a game of balance right now. Unfortunately for them, if Belal wins another big fight, they might have to give him the title shot. Because now you might hurt your credibility. Possibly. Although Belal is 35 years old. So perhaps they are trying to wait until age catches up with Belal so they can give him the title shot and see him lose.

Belal hasn’t earned it? His streak suggests it but anybody who has watched his fights, he’s the biggest fraud of a contender as you can get. No great performances, no statements, 15-25 minutes of nothing. No set ups, no striking, nada and then yells on the mic saying that people are ducking him. I have no idea why out of nowhere people are suggesting Belal to get the shot but when after HE BEAT BURNS FOR THE CONTENDER SPOT EVERYONE INSTANTLY SAID HE SHOULD HAVE ONE MORE FIGHT. Thats basically unheard of. Genuine question, who else has done that? And who else is doing what Shavkat is doing? I feel like Belal should fight a few more times before he goes for the belt.
