Several yrs ago, drove 3 hours to Atlantic City. Was there with a few friends, planned to gamble a few hours, have fun. I cashed $1k at the roulette table. 4 spins I had 11k. I went to my room, watched tv, told my friends I’m driving home at 6AM with or without. Not the night I planned, but I know myself. If I started drinking and “having fun” that 11 would become 2 or worse.

You put that artificial marker at 9k. But if you were "responsible" you would have stopped at 2x500 = 1k. So those 9k would never be realized Being risky is what got you at 9k, and that same trait guarantees that you will lose the money again. Then remembering the 9k makes you think the mistake was not stopping at 9k, so if next time you stop high, you will be a winner. But you cannot identify it on the spot because the high point is only evident after you lose your money. So you are destined to repeat it if you keep gambling.

you do realize that when you go back to the casino, the odds of you winning are not reset. They are likely you lose in the long run. You can't trick the odds into forgetting about you.

100% Accurate! Vegas is not for fun unless you just doing dinner/shows/drinking. If you came to win, you focus and play, and if you are up you walk. Winning only happens with strict rules.

You can't ever go with a friend. If you double triple your money in the first half hour and ready to leave, your friend will want to stay for 10 more hours

Had this dealer tell me a story that he delt someone who was playing three hands with 10k on each. He was on fire got up to 580k and then things turned he lost it all along with another 200k. It's a deadly addiction and it's not so easy to leave when you're up.

I walk in with $10k and my goal is $500-1000 daily and then leave. Others being more and make budge bets while I build up with minimum bets and use the house money to swing bet to my goal and leave. Too me years to jeans and become disciplined while leaving emotions out of it and learned to take breaks and take time. Most never learn this .

Play 3 hands of blackjack…large bets…if u win u walk…if u lose double your bet…if u win u walk…if u lose triple your bet. The odds are stacked against u for every game…but winning one out of three hands the odds are now in your favor. Winning ain’t hard but walking away is.

Have tried to stay away for along time and doing great but even now have the occasional blip.There's a crazy stat out there which goes something like this .......90% of a bookmakers profit is generated by less than 5% of the bookmakers punters. They prey on the science of addiction.

20 years ago I walked in a casino in the caribbean with 60 left with 120 and everyone thought I was crazy , I said the same exact thing as Mr White.

It's kinda weird being around those people. My buddy wins multiple 1000s. Hey. You had a good night. Let's go. They can't. They want to lose. I didn't understand the purpose of it. Even if they win 10k, it's not enough. It's so weird.

Gambling should only be looked at as entertainment. Same as going to the movies, to dinner or a sporting event. If your budget for the night is $100, then thats it. If you go into the casino to "win" then youre setting yourself up for disappointment. I gamble $100 on each UFC event and that's my night of entertainment. If i pay off the ppv costs, im happy - if not then at least it made the fights more fun

When I started playing poker at the casino, I remember the times where 5, 6, 7 hours would passed by. Win or lose, I felt I've wasted my time being in there. Then, I remember one time, after couple of hands passed by after I won a pot, the older man, probably Indian, asked me how much I won today ($30-something). Then he said to me "It's better to walk away as a winner than a loser." That got me thinking. Since then, I only play one hour or win a big hand, then walk away. Left with $10, $20, $50 in winnings or losing little. Just play for fun at the table, sip a little alcohol then play $5 at the slots.

That old Twilight Zone episode _The Fever_ says it all.

Dana says if you double up, just leave. Then he proceeds to tell us that he keeps playing after he doubles up

He didn't say double what you bet a hand, he said stop when you've doubled your start. Dana started with $150k, he bet 2 hands of $75k and left with $300k (more if he had a blackjack, a split, or a doubledown).

My rule of thumb is this. If I buy into a blackjack table with 100 dollars. The second I have 200 dollars (I made my money back) I turn to a friend who isn’t playing and put the hundred dollars in their pocket and say “don’t let me touch that”. You’ll never lose. Worst is you break even.

I just have gambled once at a Casino. It was in Montreal and was 8 years ago. I like poker so I went to play poker. Entry was $100 and I won $60 in about 1 hour. Then I left. So, that’s it. Now where I live there’s a Casino next to where I used to work and I thought of going to play poker just to see. But after making $100k in crypto and then losing it all I can say I have an addiction to gambling. Many friends of mine who were addicted to betting on sports online told me gambling was the worst addiction, even worse than coke. They said “at least coke you feel good and you know what you are getting for your money”. I have never gambled again after that because I am poor now and have a hard time meeting month’s end. Just by imagine suffering hunger again when I was homeless makes me really hold myself up to gambling, because I know I would go back to square one if I do it.

He does"t leave though, because he goes back tomorrow. To the cards, to the math, to the casino, it makes no difference if you play 300 hands on Monday, or 2 hands on Monday, 50 hands on Tuesday, and 248 hands on Saturday.

I leave when I'm up 4-5 times...doubling is boring, especially in blackjack or craps

That’s why going to Vegas sucks because even if you one big in the first few hands you still want to play the next few days you’re there

A very precious lesson is , if you win half of your money you came with , you get up and leave , until next time. You do that consistently, your willpower is your biggest edge against the casino.

If the 100 in your pocket bothers you, move it from the right pocket to the left then from the left to the right. Do this until you are tired and back to your senses. You won't make more 100s but I guarantee you that you won't loose a hundred either. Proven strategy

My biggest gambling advice is always bet high because if you hit it you can leave with good profit but if you win less money you will not stop chasing the big win and eventually you will lose anyways.

When I was 22, I worked in the cannabis industry and went to many conferences around the US. I went to one very prevalent one in Vegas and after our time for the day was over all the company would want to get dressed to go out bar hopping and gambling. I’m one to have a good time so I brought about $200 to gamble the entire weekend in Vegas. Well, THREE bars later we finally end up back at the Palazzo and my friends and I drunkenly decided to gamble at the Blackjack table. 4 minutes later I lost all $200 and I haven’t been to a Casino since😂😂I’m cheap! I don’t even sports bet

I remember going to my first real casino. I walked around for 2 hours because I was so overwhelmed and had no idea what I was doing. I finally sat down at a slot machine, put in $100 and spun a few times, hit a free play, and sat there for 20 minutes waiting for the payout. I won $1500 off of it, got hand paid, and immediately left. 2 weeks later, I went back trying to repeat and won another $500 in the first 30 minutes. I went back the next week and only won $100. Week 4, I lost $500. Week 5, lost another $500. Week 6, another $500. I went back for 10 more weeks and still haven't won jack shit. I was one of the dumbasses that fell for the bait 😭

Trust me guys. He is Absolutely right. I won 5000 dollars on blackjack and I didn’t walk away.. I just won 30 dollars on the roulette, and I understand now that I need to walk away, so I did exactly that.

Gamble once a day, if you hit big relax you did enough 😂 try again next day but don’t get compelled to spend unless you have really good odds
