PRIDE had a stacked HW division, and Fedor cleared it out and dominated for years. UFC had Tim Sylvia at the time, until he got beaten by a 43 year old and had that as a champ, until a Pro Wrestler came and took over. Prides HW division was just monstrous in comparison.

Fedor is a legend and one of the greatest of all time, he's just past his prime thats a fact...just how Liddell, Hughes & Franklin are, those guys were wrecking dudes in their prime and were untouchable.

To me at one point fedor was holding the most important title in all of mma , the pride heavyweight championship. When he won the pride grand prix and beat the likes of herring, noguirea and cro cop i would say he was defiantly the man to beat. You have to remember at the time the Pride championship was considered the premier title in mma and the ufc title was viewed as how the bellator championship is now.

Dana can say all the shit he wants about fedor and his legacy but you can't deny how badass and tough the dude was in his prime, he more into training and religion now so he wont be seen in a cage or a octagon again.

UFC heavyweight was a joke when fedor was in his physical prime. they had Paul Buentello in a title fight...

DANA is mad becaus the Greates of all time isn't UFC fighter and never will be. Fedor is LEGEND and then are coming other fighters names. This always will be like that. there is one michael jordan, one michael phelps, one Pele and one FEDOR.

Sometimes Dana white says stuff that makes no sense whatsoever. But people believe him because he is saying it with conviction. Charisma can be a dangerous thing sometimes. Ufc needs some serious competition. Ufc monopoly got to go.

What Dana failed to mention is the weight difference of all the people he has fought, and the times he fought two fighters in one night.

Beat a washed up Heath Herring (while Fedor beat Heath in his prime) to fight old man Couture, who was like 50 pounds lighter than him, with a record of 1-1. What a joke.

The fact of the matter is, he fights Werdum, Big Foot Silva, and Dan Henderson (a LHW) and LOST all three. And got finished in all three. He was bad ass through 28 straight, but you can't argue with three losses against top ranked guys.

Joe Silva has a nice haircut and seems very smart too

So absurd.. no fighter in the UFC had a tougher road than Fedor. He beat prime Heavyweight monsters regularly for years and years. This is such a bad lie from Dana and Silva - they are trying to say the road was tough in the UFC? Brock had to win like.. once, then he got a titleshot? Such bullshit.

The facts say Fedor fought any tough heavyweight walking around at the time, and UFC gave away the titleshot to a pro wrestler with a 1-1 UFC record. It's as if they just switch all pluses and minuses in their head.

@passtheuzi Exactly. In Fedor's last 4 1/2 years of fighting he has gone 6-3. Three of those victories were against nobodies/low level competition- Hong Man Choi, Mark Hunt, and Brett Rogers. Then, one of his victories was against MIDDLEWEIGHT Matt Lindland. That's 2/3 of his last victories. His other two wins were against Andrei Arlovski and Tim Sylvia who were both arguably much worse when fighting Fedor then when in the UFC. Then he goes on to lose 3 straight once he starts fighting top guys.

I completely agree with the statement that the UFC's talent is far and above the talent anywhere else. We see this over and over, Jake Shields coming into the UFC and just get's outclassed by GSP...Shields hadn't lost for 6 years and was on a 15 fight win streak people were saying "He's the best in the world" obviously not. I agree that there are talented fighters outside of the UFC some more talented than UFC Vets, but the fact is in a whole the UFC has tons more talent than anywhere else.

I have never said a negative word about his skills but when it was time to faces these new guys he would not do it and looked what happened. If your a fighter you should have the desire to fight the toughest most difficult challenges rather than easy ones and as much as i respect him for putting the time and training in and putting on some great fights, when it was time to move onto the next phase he would not do it and got left behind.

It's Very simple; Dana HAD no choice but to deligitimize FEDOR. Because, if Fedor WAS the GOAT, and didn't fight in the ufc... Ends data's ufc will have never achieved true legitimacy of being at the highest status in the sport. Fedora existence alone, made Danas business incomplete. Believe me: there's no one who understands fedora legacy = goat more then Dana. So god bless the last emperor for exposing what true character is in a man and a fight. Fedors a genuine HERO!!

I specifically like the part where he mentions that Brock Lesnar fought the best heavyweights in the world, like Heath Herring, but when Fedor fights and destroys Heath Herring when Herring was actually considered a top 10 fighter, he's a can.

First Dana was saying how great he is. Then when they realized that Fedor would not join UFC, he says he hasn't been fighting the best fighters in the world for 5-6 years. Now that Fedor is finally losing, Dana is saying he never fought the best guys not ever..... This is exactly why I do not listen to him.

I think he meant that it's a shitty way to do business to have a guy with that much hype to carry a organization rather than to let him fight with the best . Not sure if Fedor wanted to be controlled or not but I think the big factor was the co-promotion with M1 that really made the deal fall through. And for the record he's not butthurt, the nut huggers keep bringing up Fedor questions so he keeps answering them.

Times started to change , The U.F.C began to grow and suddenly they had a revival in their 265 pound weight class, pride was done and the next world for fedor to conquer was the u.f.c. he had so many challenges new and exciting scenarios and he steered away from them. Every Big fight he could of had post pride never happened fedor/overeem fedor/couture fedor/lesnar. The mma landscape changed and imo he held on to what he did years ago instead of going onto the next chapter

Then comes along is Lesnar in the UFC. Fedor was in the time where MMa was getting popular & starting to revolve. So nobody say Fedor wasn't fighting top comp. If he would of fought Barnett, win or lose. That would of added to his resume. Plus when Couture wanted Fedor.

im a big fan of dana white but gotta disagree with him here. Fedor is the greatest heavyweight of all time if not greatest mma fighter the sport has ever known. Not just because of his skills but his attitude and his show of respect just like a true martial artist

Dana White was just mad that he couldn't sign the best fighter of all time in the UFC. Simple as that. Dana White is a nobody,who did nothing for this sport. Fedor is an absolute legend and the most dominant HW champion MMA has ever seen. People will still remember him even 30-40 years from now.

I think Alistair Overeem just cemented the fact that the UFC HW division is overrated. Many idiotic fans actually saw Lesnar destroying Overeem and I had been saying for 2 years that Overeem will kill Lesnar.

@R4ZZ Not to mentioned he ducked ufc 2x. Second time immediate title shot against Brock. And he ducked Overeem 2x in Strike too. Even Overeem said that. M1 protected him as much as they could handpicking the fights they wanted bc he was their golden egg and only meal ticket. Not to mention that i've have read numerous things that M1 takes the biggest share of the money he gets per fight.

i've been a fan of MMA since UFC 1, i watched PrideFC and UFC while both were going strong. the reality was that during those years UFC had the best WW,LW, and MWs while PrideFC held the best LHW and HW fighters. while fedor was fighting guys like big nog,cro-cop,randleman,etc...(in there prime) UFC had Tim Sylvia fighting Cabbage.... Dana is delusional, only in the last 2-3 years has UFC had quality HW fights. fedor is considered a legend by Anderson Silva BJ Penn GSP, but what do they know

Ok, so you can say fedor didnt always fight the best competition, but then again neither has Dana's "P4P greatest" Anderson silva. Lets look at his middleweight title defenses, he beat a decent Franklin, Ok lutter, Nate "the choke" Marquardt, Cote injured his knee, wouldnt fight a horrible Leites, Wouldnt fight a decent Maia, narrowly beat Sonnen, and ko'd vitor who wouldnt engage. I want to think that Fedor use to be one of the best but idk because UFC has the best fighters in the world right now, you can say all this shit about m1 and mystic and shit but come the fuck on the UFC is stacked and you know it, anyway, when Fedor stepped into the UFC with the best he got his ass kicked and idk if its because hes getting out of his prime, he never really was great or what, but i feel sorry for the guy and im anxious to see where his career goes.
