Judging was never this shty in the ufc. This was the absolute worst judging . And those judges needed to be put on blast and probably fired by whatever commission they work for

apparently according to the judges, octagon control, failed attempted take downs score more points than straight jabs, uppercuts and direct hits to the face.

It was a close fight. Not a robbery by any standards; rounds 1 and 3-5 score themselves, so it's 2-2 and whoever won round 2 takes it. And round 2 was an incredibly close one, and you could justify an even round on it. Draw, Reyes, or Jones are all reasonable. It's just a really hard fight to judge. The 49-46 is a fucking crime against the sport though.

Everyone keeps talking about “oh we need new judges” then the next fight comes, and the same thing is said. Time and time again. So let’s go about getting new judges, who’s in charge of that? How does it work? The judge that gave Jones 4-1 should just be fired, just like any other job where you mess up completely. The UFC should literally employ new judges that they think are qualified, and go about it that way, have private judging that are experts in MMA, rather than it coming from the state. It’s ruining the sport

it's not about 3-2. I don't know how long you've been watching MMA, but there's "rule" if you want Championship you have to take it and not leave it in judges hands. Dominick was on his heels the whole fight and last minute of the round 5 he straight up didn't want any smoke. He's lucky that there isn't round 6 because he wobbled the whole round 5. Anyway that's what I think. If this was 3 round fight Dominick would've won but this was championship fight and it all comes down to rounds 4 and 5.

I had Jones wining the last 2 rounds. I felt the Judges making a unanimous decision just show that the system can be corrupted in MMA just like Boxing. I understand is good for business keeping Jones as the Champion, but the score of one judge was a insult to Reyes and everyone who knows about scoring. Even the commentators felt the same way. I felt bad for Reyes. He got paid good money, but he felt robed.

Just playing Devil’s Advocate. The fight window is different for everyone. Joe Rogan said during the fight that some of the judges were looking down instead of at the fight. I’m not exactly sure if he said that but by the looks of the results it looks pretty true.

Amazing when you leave the decision to the judges. My take was it definitely was not a unanimous decision. Much respect to Reyes, I'm a Jones, fan, but I, saw the fight 3-2 for Reyes, and on any fight card that's a majority decision.

Reyes won the first 3 rounds and Jones had the last 2, and this is widely accepted by anyone who knows MMA. Dana has said it, Rogan has said it. The only ones who didn't were the bent judges.

I'll be honest I had it 3-2 Jones. I thought he won round 2 but I could have seen reyes win that round also and wouldn't have been surprised. But to say this was crazy robbery I don't believe. I will say the judge that had 49-46 needs get out of there.

At first I also thought that Reyes almost clearly won Round 2. However, I've just reviewed the fight closely, and from what I see, Rd 2 was actually the most significant round to pay attention to. (Reyes did better in Rd 3 than he did in 2) In Round 2, Reyes definitely put the "scare" on Jon Jones, making a lot of vicious swings at Jones especially against the cage. However, watch closely, and you'll see that Jon slipped mostly all of them, and Reyes began to tire 2 mins into that round (3:50 onward), where Jones then controlled the pace, having Reyes shuffling backward for the rest of that round, and also for most of the remainder of the fight. I believe because we don't expect to see Jones in such a scary position against a contender, Rd 2 appeared to look "more impressive" of Reyes than it really was. However in actuality, Reyes barely landed anything in that decisive Rd #2. For the least he (Reyes) "Definitely" did not "put a beating" on Jones in Rnd #2, and I can see the argument for that round to be awarded to either side.

Finally AD someone who takes the time to analyze what took place and put it in writing. I said the same thing before reading your post and that was that many of the wild shots that Reyes was throwing were being blocked. The fact that D. Whites kids are stating Reyes won the fight tells me 90% of what I need to know. This younger generation does NOT understand the fight game and needs to go back and watch classic bouts of championship fights. This younger generation is the entitlement generation( and so feel that Reyes was entitled) and the type to actually believe that B. Sanders would make a good president etc. I trade the markets and so am used to detail and on m way to UHNWI status. This is the truth and I find it refreshing that out of all the clownish comments on here filled with female emotional thinking that someone would comment truthfully on what actually took place.

It seems to me that most fans under the age of 35 don't have enough history in viewing championship fights. Go back and review great title matches in the late 80s to early 90s. Larry David , he didn't deserve anything. He lost that fight! Even I'm rounds 1 and 2 when he scored more strikes Jones was never in trouble and many punches were missed and blocked. Rounds 3,4 and 5 had Reyes in retreat with Jones walking him down. He back pedaled and ran for 3 rounds straight.

chris armstrong And I swear people have no idea how MMA rules work. Distance control? Pressure? Sorry as far as the organizations rules go, these are not scoring metrics. If judges are going to give points for these things, maybe explain to the fighters, that even though it’s not in the rules, you can now get points for it. Also rounds are scored individually, not cumulatively. John objectively lost three rounds, no debate. So unless your argument is that he won a 10-8 round, then he lost by the current rules.

“Who cares what the judges” think....WHAT!!! I’m pretty sure EVERYONE. Except the owners, they win either way.
