Dan definitely flipped this song on its head and it needed it! Now it’s a powerful and triumphant song…the original was the opposite. He knows exactly how and where to make the changes and then add those amazing vocals of his and WOW. Also Garrett Peters is an excellent guitarist and their collaboration on this is truly EPIC. What a triumph! What was a lovely but weepy song is now an anthem to the memory of undying love. Brilliant. I love everything about this - the most gorgeous, versatile, and powerful voice on the planet, lots of smiles, tons of energy (I thought that Dan was going to pop out of his skin at a few points), fabulous guitar work by Garrett, and not really a cover but a total reimagining.
