Can't wait to see these guys live one day in Chicago. Just discovered them recently and can't stop listening to their music.

That drummer is incredible.

I now have a new category of music - the Dan Mangan + Blacksmith category! As I was listening to this I kept going, "They're kinda like... Nope." Cannot pigeonhole a true original sound, thus my new category! Awesome sound - all around. Good job, Cheryl and KEXP!

Hey Dan, I'm not sure if you can hear me, but I have a request. I bought the CD after watching this video several times. The CD recording misses tons. This KEXP recording is 100% better. All 4 of you guys are exceptional musicians but the CD Is so over refined that it excludes all of the life and edge that you guys produce. Record the the life next time please.

On his new album I think he tried to incorporate sounds and textures that he never really played with before, It sounds like the delay or vibrato might need a bit of fine tuning.

Jacob Anstey microphones don't have vibrato, vocal cords do
