Damasteel Nitrobe77 | Extreme Stability

This steel was recommended to me by Cliff Stamp. I must say, he has great taste in steel. Des Horn is the Nitrobe77 Master and was very helpful with narrowing down the HT protocol. More details later.

    Big Brown Bear of course it does lol I wouldn’t mind lc200n should have decent strength do to the nitrogen it’s around17 thousandths behind the edge so pretty decent but your thickest edge at about -5 thousandths behind the edge would be nice

    (atomedge_sharpening on IG here)Yeah man... Literally blew through over 100 feet of cardboard with my Kase Knives Shard @64hrc and it shaved... less than a minute of touching up and it's destroying hairs again. Nitrobe 77 is no joke and if Vanax is as good or close to it with the edge and then shitting all over everything with holding it? Holy fuck.

    When you have a blade that thin, do you hear treat a full thickness? Seems like that would give you a consistent blade. Does the thickness of the blade during heat treat affect your calculations (time and temp)?

  • @FearNoSteel

    @FearNoSteel

    5 жыл бұрын

    Nah, but that depends more on the equipment used and by who thought. Also, Nitrogen steels should be HT at full thickness to avoid nitrogen loss. Also this would be way too thin to HT in this condition. Prone to complex twisting warps when too thin
