    Interesting vid!! I've been looking at these. The prices here in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.. CS srk in sk5 steel about €.50,-- The A1 about 4 to 5 times that, and the A1pro nearly 10 times that.. I have the sk5 version, but am looking for an upgrade. But man, are these knives expensive.. Thanks for this little test, it's very informative 👍 Greets, TW.

    I bought your 15v in the pm2. I also want this knife so bad with the g10. I can't find it with the g10, even on eBay. 😭

    How often does a saw like this need to be sharpened? Would it make a couple more cuts like that or need a sharpening after just that cut?

    Truly enjoyed the video, even though I winced a bit as you were killing the knife’s edge on the belt sander. Lol I know I’m late to this vid, but might you share what sharpening stone and grit you are using? I saw the company name on the stone’s base, and with some searches, it seems like the Gokumyo , possibly a 15K? Just basing off of coloration that seems to match an ad. Thanks again in advance. Lee

    This is old, but my Smooth G10 grips are so damn slick. It's a user knife and in the SW Florida Heat and Humidity this is constantly slipping on me. Have to look for better options.

    When sharpening blades where the edge comes right to the heel/ricasso, how do you keep it so even all the way to that heel? For example the Manix 2 in the video or especially the PM2. I can get very flat bevels when canting the blade at about 45 degrees to the stone, but when that heel juts out, to get all the way back, you have to hole the blade at 90* to the stone. Is this just something that comes with hundred of hours of practice or do you have any tips for this? Thanks!

    Just done with sharpening it to mirror polish using Naniwa 400, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, 10000, 12000 finishing on leather strop. It took me 2 hours and still I can see no use for this nonsense piece of dull by design garbage after 5 or 6 years. My most regretful knife purchase ever.

    I’ve done 100s of tests micro bevels is the only way to go Im lucky to have a friend with the right equipment to test with we measured the pressure it takes to cut through multiple items with micro and without the micro bevel & what we found is the micro bevel takes 25% less pressure to cut through all the things we cut and kept the edge twice as long

  • @intensecutn

    I'm far from a master at sharpening, or knives for that matter, but I bought a opinel #7, and the micro bevel is razor sharp. Like scary sharp.

    @@FearNoSteel Good point. Just go out and do the sort of things you want to do with your knife. Take your philosophy of use, see if it meets your expectations and adjust accordingly.

    Does shooting the G48 feel the same or different than shooting a G19 and does the 5th gen in general feel better to you with no finger grooves?? I think 5th gen is sick, I was just waiting for them to work the kinks out of the G20 in 10mm which they released earlier this year... good shootin bro!!

  • @FearNoSteel
    @FearNoSteelАй бұрын

    G19 will shoot significantly better, not a fan of the finger grooves but I wouldn't notice either way when shooting. Not a fan of 10mm; too much cost, recoil with minimal return on investment besides cool factor. I'd rather use a rifle if I want better terminal ballistics.
