I kept saying Nylon but I think it's more like a canvas material.

That thing is great for traveling. Especially with it having a spot for your Garnier Fructis shampoo.

I use the additional space to really allow gaps and spaces between knives and add in additional utensils that I’d have left before. Plus you can organize things a bit cleaner or carry an additional set of you are going to prepping for guests with allergies etc.

I've worked in "professional kitchens" for the past 5 years. I've never seen anybody, even my corporate executives from New York, Miami, or Vegas that need a knife bag this big. If you need something bigger than an 18 slot roll, you may as well shove a knife block inside of a bookbag and take it to work.....esp for $300+??? Just like another cheap, made in china, make money fast marketing gimic dalstrong is well known in "real kitchens" for... Like your channel, but a dalstrong is not a workhorse by any means. Maybe something that could appeal to a mediocre home cook looking to save money on cutlery. I would never trust any brand that has been proved to use false advertising, like dalstrong used to in the past with vg-10 on shotgun series, which they know mark as aus-10.... On top of that, every dalstrong I've ever used feels cheap, even in comparison to a shun classic....

I get where you’re coming from. It’s a. Over the top item and the price shows. I’m not a luggage expert and I used to travel with a duffel bag but I can’t honest comment on the value of the leather on a Louis Vuitton vs a Samsonite but it feels comparable. I’ve used a few different bags and rolls and one of the most frustrating things is the lack of space and everything flopping around inside. They addressed that in a big way. I haven’t seen many cutlery companies not guilty of marketing hype over quality. Honestly Mercer offers a reasonably priced product but most knife nerds won’t give it the time of day. I really appreciate your comments. I go into these reviews trying to be positive and respectful of the company and do my best to not string the viewers along and I hope that you guys genuinely see that. I’ve tested a lot of copies made from China and even some from Japan. This bag is priced outside of where I would be comfortable with it but things that can afford usually end up with cuts and holes in them after a few uses or the stitches pop. That’s including the ones from Mercer. It’s hard to find affordable quality gear and I’m hoping that Dalstrong is trying to take care of the chefs out there. Thanks again for your comments!

@@JPMCuisine I always honored you being unbiased and mindful. Like I said, I do like (and follow) your channel and have bought some enso knives based on your recommendations/reviews. But from my own experience, something like this seems to be overkill in price and capacity.

@Justin Herer I know an executive chef that works at the Palliser Hotel in Calgary Canada... He loves his Dalstrong shoguns and has stated his shuns had chipped way easier than his shoguns even tho he uses both brands.. He also has some miyabi as well but credits dalstrong for having a workehorse type nature to them..
