I think that Pamela really stirred the drink that was Dallas. While JR was certainly the main character, I think Pamela was the character that always stood up to everyone

Without pam Dallas was over ...

She had balls to stand up to Jock. Behind the scenes trivia- Jim Davis adored Victoria and she him. she later said he told her she looked very similar to his only child, daughter Tamara who had died a few years before DALLAS started. VP said Jim was buried with a picture of her in his casket.

The interactions between Pam and JR were fantastic. From my perspective, they were the stars of the show. When Victoria Principal left, there was no center of attention. Although Patrick Duffy returned, the chemistry of the show was never the same!

The creators of the original Dallas got it spot on with the choice of female actors to play the characters. Victoria Principal, Barbara Bel Geddes, Charlene Tilton, Linday Gray and finaly Susan Howard were just simply wonderful in the execution of their parts...I will always cherish growing up with that famous opening titles theme by Jerrold Immel eminating from our TV in the late 70s into the 80s and beyond. Without doubt, DALLAS was/is/will always be the best TV mini series ever created.

No mini series runs for 14 years while it is true that it was originally envisioned as a 6-episode miniseries, it it eventually turned out to be the most successful tv series of its time which extended far beyond the borders of USA.

Actors and actresses of the 70s. Could make a 5 minute thing like going to bathroom. Into an hour long. suspenseful. Dramatic edge of your seat drama, scary, and give it a life of its own for weeks. They worked with very little. And were really really good. It's amazing the life they bought to characters.

"Well baby face, that won't work with me". Pam like❤️

God, she was beautiful!!

The show went downhill after Victoria left. I loved how she stood up to Lucy, JR, and everyone.

Pamela was feisty, fearless, and beautiful! I loved how she stood up to JR, Jock, and Roger and anyone that got in her way.

I loved that they changed her hair color to a dark red/dark reddish brown. Very nice on her. Suits her much better.

I just adored Pam......

Pam stayed loyal to herself, her thoughts and beliefs. Pam would stand up to Bobby, Cliff and JR. She would always speak her mind. such a free spirit. Things might not always go as planned at the time but the best solution for Pam, was always around the corner waiting.

Loved her! Pam and Bobby were the supercouple of Dallas!

I loved Pam in Dallas. I was just a kid watching it with my parents but I always had a thing for her.

I loved Pam and Lucy's relationship.

The show was never the same after Victoria Principal's departure.

Great compilation! Victoria had a mellow laid back delivery as Pam but boy as the years progressed she showed more range with her rage and disgust. Her best scenes were with J.R. when she told him to shut up I screamed with utter delight. Hagman was great here as well but he always was. Best line: "You filthy snake!" When she said it you could feels all the pent up disgust roll off her tongue. Classic!

I agree. When Pam told J.R. to shut up, that was probably Pam at her most fierce at 7:20 . 😠 Along with the Katherine slap at 9:25 . 😡 😄

Pam was my favorite character on DALLAS.

I hated her leaving & I cried when she had the fiery crash. She had baby making to do!! :-(

Hagman admired principal for the way she started her own company after leaving the show. She's said many nice things about him over the years. They must have been close in real life and after that scene probably laughed a bit.

Loved it!

Pam was always soft spoken and classy but when you pissed her off she would go in on you. That's one thing her and Bobby had in common. They appear to be pushovers but when they find out they are getting played especially by family they definitely fight back.

For me, Dallas was a shadow of its former self the day Victoria Principal left the show.

I would have loved to see a storyline where JR and Pam had reluctantly teamed up against a common enemy. They actually would have made an interesting team.

Very good acting. She was a great actress. And good looking to boot. It was all natural too.

I just love Victoria Principal, she was also Dallas and Susan Howard was also Dallas. Sue Ellen, Pam, Donna, and Miss Ellie were the best women in Dallas. When Susan and Victoria were gone from the show, it went down the hill. The producers should have kept Bobby single after Pam died in honor of Victoria Principal.

Absolutely love Pamela and Cliff's chemistry. You really believed they were sister and brother. I loved the season 9 scene, in one of Victori'a's final episodes, where she goes off on him when Jeremy Wendell reveals Cliff sold his share of their mother's company to WestStar. Pam walks out on Cliff and the family business for good. Brilliant.

@@rolltide9547 They were half brother and sister. They were raised together, but Digger was not really Pam's biological father. They had the same mother, though, Rebecca Barnes Wentworth.

Pam was the only person that left JR shook a little bit.

Victoria Principal's departure from DALLAS abso-fucking-lutely destroyed this show. Didn't help that they got rid of Susan Howard at the same time. Was never the same again without them both.

The drama of her demise makes my heart race every time I see it!

Victoria Principal is a gorgeous woman but she was extremely Gorgeous during the miniseries! In the mid eighties, she was voted the most beautiful woman in the world.

Here she's practically incomparable. Later on she was "just" very, very, very beautiful.

Loved Pam she was especially fabulous around Seasons 7 - 9 (1983 - 86) that was when Pam became strong and Victoria's acting peaked. 😍

I always thought J.R.a little in love with Pam. When she first got there he couldn’t keep his eyes off her. There was a pool scene where Pam was on a floaty and J. R. was staring and Bobby walked up on him and said “Enjoying the view?”😝

Victoria Principal was born in Japan. Always wondered if she had some Japanese blood in her because of her eyes. Such a beautiful woman that left the show too soon.

She isn’t Japanese. Her father was Italian and mom was of English descent. She was born in Japan due to her father’s military stationing.

For about three weeks now I've been watching clips of Dallas, many of them with Victoria Principal. I really had forgotten how beautiful Victoria was, and is. I've seen interviews with her, and she's simply delightful, respectful, funny, witty, unpretentious, and disarming. It's an absolute pleasure to look at her and hear her talk.

The first episode is from the first series and I loved it. It was more in the mold of an epic family saga than the soap it became

Victoria actually became a pretty solid actor by the time she left (check out her scene when she finds out that Cliff sold Wentworth Tool and Die). I don’t think she got the credit for that. She was really made to be on television - the camera loved her and she was likable. The show sucked after she left.

You have no heart, you have no feelings. You can't be hurt like other people. But you have one soft spot, one weakness and that's Ewing Oil! The only thing you've ever really loved. Well I'm gonna join Cliff, and I'm gonna back him up all the way, and Cliff, and Jamie and I are gonna take your company away from you! And then I'm gonna watch you hurt!

Larry Hagman actually knew Victoria Principal and her family before she was casted as Pam Ewing. Though her character found his character to be an adversary with her, they both actually got along great! They were friends until Hagman's death. May Mr. Hagman #RIP.

I agree it was never the same without Victoria Principle. Bobby and Pam was probably the best part. It was sad after Jim Davis died too.

It's not even that Pam (Victoria) was an excellent actress (which she was, they all were) but it's that the show's original premise was that Pam married into the a wealthy family that her family had a feud with for YEARS. After she left, the show just... changed. It's interesting they didn't recast her, when half of the Dynasty cast was re-casted.

The best moments of the show imho,were always between J.R. & Pam. Leonard Katzman Dallas producer has been quoted as saying the show was originally going to focus on the rivalry dynamic between J.R & Pam with Bobby caught the middle. The Ewing/Barnes fued served as a backdrop that was to be the impetus of the rivalry between J.R. & Pam but,then the show pivoted to focusing less on family rivalry and instead became J.R. vs incert name.

Her best acting on the show was when she confronted JR after she found out it was him who sent her island hopping throught the caribbean looking for mark. A pity the camera wasnt on her when she said " sit there and just shut up and listen". The expression on her face throughout that entire scene is absolutely priceless. It was her best performance ever on Dallas. Also i wonder what the outcome might have been if it was her and JR stuck in the elevator over night instead of Bobby and JR. probably not a very pleasant one. Great actress and very good looking.

After Larry Hagman, Victoria Principal was the second best character of the series.

Larry Hagman was so good at looking evil. He could really stare a person down with that subtle cold smile.

My name is Pam and my best friend’s name was Suellen during the early 80s. She was dating a guy whose first and last initials were JR. my boyfriend at the time was Bobby (we are still friends). We had a friend named Susan who looked so much like Lucy it was unreal. We had a lot of fun with the name thing, since EVERYONE knew the Dallas cast. i don't think she was blind to his ways. I think she knew that because of the Ewings and what they did to his dad he was obsessed with getting even or at least being equal to the Ewings so they can get his respect. Jr and Cliff were always at war with each other and no matter how far Cliff would go Jr was always one step ahead of Cliff.

Roger was a piece of trash. I was glad he got caught. I loved how Pam stood up to JR. She was 101% pure class!

In her heyday she was probably the most beautiful woman on the planet. Whenever she was onscreen, you just couldn't take your eyes off her. After she left the show it was just never the same.

Pam was great. Katherine so deserved that smack lol

Victoria was at her peak during first 3 seasons. She acted better. She looked amazing. Some of the later seasons in terms of her story lines weren’t her fault. For example her search for mark Grayson; her losing her marbles over being unable to have a child. She was at her peak when she was a strong take no prisoners attitude. By the end of season 10 it was time for her to exit stage left

She against JR was actually the backbone of the whole show.

Some great scenes here. VP's acting go progressively better season after season. One of the best scenes I loved, that was missed from this compilation was when she slapped Gerald Kane around the face after he'd told her JR was behind her trip to the Carribean. That look of sheer anguish was the best ending of any of the episodes. Another missed off this compilation is when she slapped JR around the face after he suggested she'd hooked up a couple of Frenchmen on her trip to France with Mark Grayson. When Pam left the show was never the same. Her character was the bridge that crossed the Barnes and Ewing families as she had divided loyalties between her husband and brother. People always say that the show was about JR and Sue Ellen, perhaps about Miss Ellie and Jock too, but that was to do with the actors not just about the characters they played. The most important character in the show, next to JR, as far as storylines went was VP's Pam. You never fully realise that until Season 11 when she is no longer there. There is such a void.

I fancied Pam when watching the original series and now just watched it all again she still same feminine gorgeous sexy lady I fancied years ago
