Not surprised. I tried calling in a dwi driver a few months ago and it took 10 minutes just to get to a call taker. Crime is way up and there isn't enough first responders or call takers.

The police are not defunded. So please stop with it's the reason why they didn't show up, etc. This is about the 911 dispatch dept.

I once called DPD to report that someone was breaking into my neighbor's cars. It took 4 hours for them to respond.

That's when most of them go on break, during the second shift.

It was the operators fault, the cop showed up 60 seconds late which probably wouldn't have happened if the operator showed a sense of urgency.

PS Dallas PD hasn't been defunded if this happend in Washington your argument would be reasonable. This is a "republican funded" red city, red state PD that are underfunded cause nobody wants to pay taxes.

@M VB Yeah I just looked that up I was about to change that. The city council has refused all attempts to defund the police so that's not the reason for this delay. I'm liberal but strongly against defunding the police. In this case the operator not the LEO is at fault. I could only imagine if you take 13 minutes to dispatch you're probably not communicating to the LEO the urgency so he can hit the lights and make that 8 minutes instead of 9.

If they dont want to work they should quit. In what other job do you get to refuse to do your function and still get to get paid ??

What defunding? And what would you switch funding to? Kinda hard to defund something underfunded and moving funding to another agency ... well, the paramedics were already there, waiting on the police to show up.

Maybe if there were more law enforcement on duty or in the academies that would not be a problem. If Democrats are leading this country in the funding the police that is what you're going to get.
