Can't get enough of that scene, Loved it when J.R. put them in their place. Bobby and Ray at times can be too nice for their own good, and condemn others for making errors and J.R. reminded them, that you can do sinful things too. I rewind this scene multiple times, cause I just love the look on Bobby and Ray's face, when J.R. reminded them of the part they played, in causing Mickey's accident.

Ray and Bobby shouldn’t have set Walt Driscoll up for jail. JR should have taken some responsibility and got Driscoll out of jail; but JR did try to get Driscoll out of legal trouble, but he tried to attack JR. Then Driscoll tried to get his “revenge,” but he hurt Sue Ellen and Mickey (Ray’s Cousin) instead; but Sue Ellen is to blame here also; because after having a fight with JR she took the key to JR’s car 🚗, and got in to drive somewhere. When Mickey tried to stop her, that’s when Driscoll tried to get his “revenge” by running JR’s car off the road. But he didn’t know Sue Ellen was actually driving the car, with an innocent passenger trying to stop her from being killed, or killing someone, because she was DRUNK. Just because she was justifiably angry with JR doesn’t mean Sue Ellen is any less culpable for what happened to Mickey. Sue Ellen SHOULD NOT have gotten behind the wheel of JR’s vehicle 🚗 while intoxicated. If that would have happened in “the real world 🌍” Sue Ellen would have received some serious jail time, despite being married to a “rich and infamous man.” Why didn’t Ray get mad at Sue Ellen? She was the one that was behind the wheel of the car, DRUNK; if Sue Ellen hadn’t driven DRUNK, Mickey wouldn’t had to try to save her from herself.

They are always so damn self-righteous, and it makes me sick. Always blaming JR for everything, and that time JR outsmarted both of them. Bobby is nothing but a bully, and thug, and Ray is just as guilty as both of them. At the end of the day, all three have done their dirt. ALL three, and there are more members of the family that have done the same thing. John Ross, Christopher, Donna, Lucy, Sue Ellen, Ann, Pam, and April. Everybody in that family has done something scandalous, and it's not right to pretend to be all self-righteous like you have done nothing.

A lot of people blamed JR for losing Ewing Oil. It was actually Bobby that did. He sacked the guy that hung himself in jail whilst JR had arranged with the CIA to keep the Calhoun affair hush hush. JR never went through with the blowing up of wells. It was his wife that got revenge on Bobby by passing CIA records to Wendell. It was JR that got back at Wendell and took back the assets. So JR did the hard work whilst Bobby B enefitted from it.

Saxon C, Lucy no doubt played a part, is what part of the reason Mickey was in the accident. But to me, what set the tone for it all, was Holly Harwood and her plan to get JR out of her company, she did it by telling Sue Ellen that there was lipstick on JR's collar of his shirt, and she told Sue Ellen that JR was gone be at her house, so Sue Ellen looked for the collar with the lipstick, and then she went to Holly's house, saw JR's car, entered the house, went upstairs, and saw them making love, Holly saw Sue Ellen looking, and Sue Ellen was teared eye, hurt, disappointed, went to a bar to get drunk, then at Clayton's place, Clayton called Mrs. Ellie, and went over and took her to Southfork, though she resisted, didn't want to see JR. When they did meet in the living room, Sue Ellen described to him what she saw, and JR tried to tell his side, she ran out grabbed his keys, took off, got in JR's car, and yes Lucy told Mickey to stop her, and the rest was history. But to me it started with Holly Harwood setting up a plan to get JR out of his company, after he controlled it, and did it by setting Sue Ellen up to see them in bed.

I read somewhere that Walt Driscoll was a shipping tycoon which would explain his mansion, nice cars, and knowledge of the shipping industry so if he was the head of the Oil Land Management department it wasn't because he needed the money. Walt knew that his first meeting with JR on Holly's boat was a bad sign the JR would do anything to get the variance. Even if Walt had given JR the variance and everything played out Walt would have had the $25,000 for his bail and given his clean record with the police and his statement that he was set up probably during his car accident (Walt had the dents in his car to prove it) the case against Walt would be weakened. I would have liked to have known more about Walt's wife leaving him. In any case Walt's shipping company wouldn't have been effected. I don't understand why JR had Walt meet him at his office during the illegal oil deals. Didn't it occur to JR that Bobby or his secretary might stop by Ewing Oil for some reason. If JR had listened to Walt and made one trip with all the oil no one would have found out about the scheme. One last thing, when JR and McSween met Walt at his hotel room JR should have offered Walt money, legal assistance, and a way for Walt to win back his offer instead of his insincere "how ya doing, Walt". Even though Walt tried to choke JR McSween's punching Walt in the back only made the situation worse. JR had no problem giving away money in the past maybe he could have done this with an honest apology. Walt might have been more receptive to giving JR the name of his Cuban Connection. Bobby and Ray's sting operation on Walt was almost just as bad as JR's handing of the situation. Two wrongs don't make a right and besides Bobby knew about JR's black mailing tendencies in the past and given Walt's clean image it would seem to make sense that Walt was forced into the variance. Walt could have made a deal with his lawyer or a rival oil company like West Star or Cliff's company to admit that JR was black mailing Walt into giving JR the variance and putting Walt in a position where he needed the money from the illegal oil deal.

And Lucy was just as cruel and Deceitful as JR. And I didn't know Tina Louise was in it as well as JRs secretary. I have a feeling Her and Jr did some sparking. No one tell me I havent got far enough yet lol

Walt was totally justified in not wanting to give JR his Cuban connection but Walt needed to be thinking about salvaging his life situation. With Harry McSween present Walt should have given JR the information hoping that JR would reduce or make Walt's legal problems go away. JR even admitted that Walt was set up so Walt could have asked JR for his $500,000 since that money wouldn't have helped JR win Ewing Oil anyway. I think that JR would have been receptive to Walt's demands. This would have allowed Walt to recover most of what JR cost him and he wouldn't have resorted to revenge against JR. JR, Bobby, and Ray were still dirt bags to Walt but Walt could have live the rest of his life in peace. I didn't like the Mickey character at first but I soon really cared about him as he turned into a good person who truly loved Lucy, not for her money, but for her.

I don't know why Walt just didn't stay in the Caymen Islands instead of getting involved with JR again. He should have realized that it would only end up badly for him. Walt was a good guy and didn't deserve his fate. Neither Bobby nor JR were worthy of winning Ewing Oil. Bobby used one of JR's crooked deals to force cartel into giving Bobby six times the worth of his deal with them. He along with JR also set up Hicks and Driscoll JR was wrong in his Cuban Oil deal. Neither Bobby nor JR felt much remorse for blackmailing Hicks or Driscoll. The final tally at the end of the contest had JR earning $40 million which was from his Cuban deal including money from Holly to buy him out of her company but JR must have made money on his cut-rate gasoline stations. Why wasn't the final totals for the contest the conclusion of the contest. Bobby was allowed to submit his check from the Canadian deal. I know Bobby didn't trust JR but the final tallies should have been it. I don't understand why JR didn't listen to Walt and done one big oil deal with Cuba instead of three. The more times he did it the greater chances he had of getting caught. The penalties would have been the same. JR could have gotten his money earlier without ruining Walt's life and concentrated on other deals to make more money in the event that Bobby's Canadian deal came through.

JR, Ray, and Bobby were all guilty of Mickey's and Sue Ellen's accident. All three conspired to ruin Walt's life, although JR was the most responsable. Neither JR nor Bobby deserved to win Ewing Oil. Jock could be tough but his sons resorted to unethical, if not, illegal acts. I didn't understand the contest. The winner should not have been declared before the ending time of the contest. I know Bobby wanted to see if JR would hold up his end of the deal to share the company but this was a legal situation. JR got $40 million from his Cuban deal plus Holly's buy out but JR made money on his gas stations even though his variance was rescinded before the contest ended. There was only one way that the contest could have ended and that was with Bobby winning then sharing the company with JR.
