It's a pity that you couldn't visit beautiful Dalian on a sunny day. Maybe you can go to Dalian again next summer, on a sunny summer day with the comfortable sea breeze. Dalian is one of the only cities in China that is not too cold in winter and not too hot in summer.

Dalian girl here! I can confirm driving in my hometown makes people nervous (if you are not used to driving a manual car in hilly area) with endless roundabouts with one direction exit, if you get the wrong exit , you are F.ed. And now we have the bridge, it doesn’t help with my dad sitting next to me laughing and mocking at me, lol ! And the Lexus gives me sooooo much Dalian uncle vibe( yes, my uncle has one , it is really popular among that generation). Although i left DL longtime ago, it is always my 1st layer of identity.

玩大连，最少一个礼拜，要不走马观花，看到的只是皮毛。不过，煎饼果子和烤鱿鱼，焖子和豆腐皮，费比还是选的很对的，但是东北炖和玉米饼这种东西，不代表大连的味道。应该去吃一趟海鲜，大连的海鲜是冷水海鲜，超级好吃。没吃海鲜有点可惜了。

我感觉外国博主很多都喜欢街头小吃和苍蝇馆子。 也许是人太少了不怎么去饭店吃大盘子。 去一些好的餐馆地方特色的有local帮忙点。 比如三鲜焖子，炸海蛎子...😊

Compared with other Chinese cities, Dalian is not a developed city. In the 2022 GDP ranking of Chinese cities, Dalian ranks 29th.

Dalian is very developed. The city infrastructure and view is definitely top 10 in China, or even top 5. Everyone knows that its GDP is purely a political issue because its famous former mayor defeated in the duel. Since 2012, Dalian had almost zero investment, zero loan, zero project, and its GDP has been artificially reduced for the past 10 years while all of other Chinese cities' GDP increased considerably ... So, Dalian's GDP does not reflect its real rank in the country.

Bro. This isn't even 20% of dalian. Come on. Dalian is much much much more beautiful then what you're showing. You need to change your guide.

As tourist to visit China. It's absolutely ok. Just like some people also go to Cambodia, Burma, Gaza, Afghanistan, Africa, North Korea, Russia. But right now, over 150 hong kong people, some are legislative council member, lawyers, professors, students in university were taken into prison without trial for over 3 years and continue on. Over 6000 hong kong people are on bail or to be kept in prison over 5 years for violation of national security laws and in foreseeable future, in such case, they will not be allowed to travel out of Hongkong for over 5 years or even decades.
