In the TV series, Ian encounters the Robotised Craddock on board the saucer after the raid and the saucer is in flight to the mine. Craddock apprehends a stowaway named Larry who plans on hitch-hiking a ride to the mine to find his brother. Ian intervenes and Craddock shuts down due to his conditioning being botched. Terry Nation's earlier draft though stated that Craddock was to have a sort of epileptic fit as he died. After arriving at the mining site, Ian and Larry make it in to the mine where they find Larry's brother who is a Roboman. Larry is attacked and slowly killed but urges Ian to flee as he keeps his brother from following.
