Dale Sr. would be proud of how his son turned out as a human being and driver. He was really more concerned about how Michael was feeling than his own.I think this is the best interview about racing that I’ve ever seen!

I remember 03 when Mikey won and 04 when Jr. won. I was barely 10 years old and my dad, who was a die-hard Sr. fan, watched every single race, or anything nascar related really. I remember how upset he was when Sr. died and seeing him cry for the first time in my life. When Mikey crossed that finish line in 03, my dad teared up, but when Jr. got it in 04, I thought I was ready to see my dad jump over the moon. Racing means so much more to the fans than just fast cars. My dad passed away in 2008 in an ATV crash doing what he loved just like Sr. did and I can only hope that he finally got to shake hands with the intimidator. We laid him to rest with a couple of his favorite Dale Earnhardt die-cast models just so we knew he'd still get his share of Nascar even after he was gone. Great episode, guys.

The whole thing with Mike is what really crushes me about it all. I'm not a race fan. I was 11 years old when this all happened. Now that I'm older and learning all this, it just crushes me. The highlight of his career happened because his friend sacrificed his life for him. Of course at the time they didnt know the price. Its just terrible. Poor guy

I am SO GLAD Mikey followed Jun Bug down there to the infield grass for The July W. Those two on the cars is such an iconic moment in NASCAR. Beautiful moment in History. I have never known another person who has been so talked about, good and bad, over my 52 year's of life. My brother and I went to at least one Charlotte race a year for as long as I could drive. Teresa is the wicked witch but she lost everything that mattered that day. She literally lost her everything Which is probably why she has a grudge towards everything racing. It’s just part of her morning and you can’t tell her she’s wrong for feeling like a witch afterwards. She definitely could handle things differently but who really cares anymore when you’ve really lost everything and yet all these nerds are out here crying with their wives saying they’ve lost everything that day and while they still have everything ? It's interesting to hear Michael talk about the hurt and how he probably needed / needs therapy. As a fan I have always felt this same pain. I saw Dale sometime around 76 or 77 in practice at Charlotte. He had no team and ran a few laps and came in got out and opened the hood and worked on I think the carb. The older man I went with told me who he was and told me about his dad having been a great driver. I never forgot it. When he got in cup racing in 79 I started pulling for him. I was 20 years old working construction out of state. As soon as his shirts came out I had one. I still have a large drawer of those shirts. I don't wear them anymore. I wanted to save them. I may be buried in one. But I know that hurt and pain as a fan that was there from the start. I remember what it felt like to be at the track and one of a few wearing his shirt. It was amazing what he did for NASCAR.

Michael said it best a few years ago. After winning the Daytona 500 that day and when you look at the 🏆, instead of thinking about the win, you think about the loss (of Dale). That had to leave a sour taste in your mouth and a knot in your stomach. I don't know if I could have that trophy in view bc of the loss, but then again you can't put it away bc one of your best friends gave his life (not intentionally but still) for you to win that trophy. It has to be the hardest tug of war in your soul.

I watched that Daytona 500. When the TV camera showed Darryl Waltrip looking out toward turn 3 and the concern on this face I knew right then Dale Sr was gone. At that moment, I called my father on the phone, he was watching the race in another state, he answered with "Dale is gone"...... The sport changed at that moment in many ways.

Love your hat.Micheal we love you.My heart broke for you that day. For all of you.I'm so glad to hear the memories you all share. I was so proud of you that day , Dale loved you all so much. I will never forget the line up that day.Just amazing. I always wondered how Kenny Schrader was doing. Never seen him after that day and I was worried some idiot was going to try and hurt him from the threats that he was getting. I would love to see him to on your show. I hope he's doing ok.

For me, this is one of the most fun, sad, heart breaking interview with Michael. You can see the same hurt in his eyes as Dale. And the respect shown by all of the people in the studio is palpable with in the room. I've seen the documentary and it's one of the best ones. All I can say is that as long as you remember the person you have lost then you really never lose them from your life. DE R. I. P.

I needed to see this. I was standing in my living room-standing with my standing with my hands in the air, feeling some type of joyful healing come over me witnessing Jr. pull this off, then when Michael joined in, I had to fight back MORE tears so my daughters didn’t think I was choking on food, (or whenever) like the moment I stormed out of the house and balled on my porch feeling my wife’s hand on my back while I struggled for the words to explain the news flash from Mike Helton, (as I was alone in the family room). After she calmed me down, her pointing at me that I scared the hell out of our daughters and don’t do that $&@! and not to do that again, lol. This Dirty Mo production just became therapy LONG OVERDUE! Thanks Dale, (and your Wife and Sis).

Love Michael sharing these moments with us. I remember being at work and mom called me, which was unusual on a Sunday. She asked if I was sitting, I assured her I was and then she said we lost Dale. I really hadn't been able to watch NASCAR much because of my IT Position, but, it still hit me, and even more when I got home to watch the news coverage. Thanks again, Dale. Each one of these segments are fun to watch and I learn a little something about everyone who is on each week. On iRacing, in our over 60 Driver League, I run the Mom n Pop's paint. This last week, I pushed a fellow driver to the win at Daytona and I never left the back bumper, even in the K & N Car.

😢 Still a tear jerker. You Guys are amazing the way you both handled that, in particularly being men in the publics eye. Hearing you Guys talk about the crash still keeps me glued to the screen. Real life dramatic film unfolded right before our eyes. My cousin Troy bet Sr. to Win that race and I was the 1 that called & let him know that bad news. We watched it on tv but Troy passed out and I called & woke him up after I got home & I saw that Sr. had passed on ESPN soon after I walked in the door. He was shocked to hear the news as were we all. R.i.P. #3 The Intimidator

I remember him saying i would cry too if i was there with you. Dale was one of my heroes and so was my dad. I lost my dad last december and he was a great man. Dale jr you have done a great job filling his shoes and carrying the pain in front of the media and carrying on and turning away from that party lifestyle. Just saying good job man and i hope our dads are maybe hanging out. Well damn i made myself cry. I miss my dad so much.

Watched the February Daytona 500 when we lost Dale. It hurt bad. I felt pain for his son and for Michael and everyone. But when they went back to Daytona and Junior got first and Michael got second and how they both celebrated in the infield was one of the most awesome and human moments I’ve ever witnessed. I think that’s when the healing process really started for Junior and Mikey.
