Why have you taken equal place as like god? Why all others are giving such place to you it’s by because of your eternity. Is there any other appreciation that one can offer you more than this?

I agree thats a good message to take away from this, however that someone who many consider to be the actual Buddha of Compassion would find this amusing is deeply disturbing. A spiritual leader should lead an exemplary example never mind someone who many hold to be an actual Buddha. Also killing/non-harmfullness is a fundamental central tenant of Buddhism. Maybe he was making a somewhat unskillful joke or maybe something else...? Any practitioner with a tiny experience of concentration / consideration for others, never mind actual compassion would not harm a living being

Allan Carpenter Buddhism is for compassion and patience but not to the fault.not to loss of right to self defence. If u will read Buddhism u will find main teaching of Buddha is madham Marg or middle way.buddha said it's the extremes of anything that brings the suffering.he spoke about compassionate coexistence n forgiveness but not to the point of self suffering and extinction and buddhism is all about suffering alleviation .

Its one thing for disciples to perceive faults in their teachers, but its something else for the teacher to say or show such a poor, essentially non-buddhist example TO his students. All that glitters is not gold

First he speaks derisively about women and receives applause. Then he jests about killing mosquitos, (In his books he speaks about universal compassion, here he seems to suggest that their importance is derived from their ability to appreciate his kindness and their brain size), and again receives applause. I am I the only one thinking that there is something wrong with this?

Dalai lama also said cat and dog....now will you say he is differentiating among livings beings.....dude,he is only expressing the real facts with purity without being judgemental.....all in all whatever he says or does, his intention is always compassion. Also dalai lama is a normal human like us....so some mistakes,let him be....dont worry ,he is trust worthy.

So Avalokiteshvara is laughing at creating the causes for lower rebirth (killing out of anger) and encouraging other people to feel comfortable with that.

Ignorance, arrogance, and pomp also cause lower rebirth and positive merit can outweigh one's negative. The Dalai Lama has a ratio of good merit and you don't even come close as your comment demonstrates. You are no saint and no Dalai Lama. Nowhere even close. Best to worry about the trouble in your own path than pointing out that of others.
