Dal Pepper Fry

Dal Pepper Fry:
Here is a beautiful dal fry. It’s really tasty and beautiful to the eyes.
Ingredients:
2/3rd cup dry pink lentils (Masoor dal)
2 medium green peppers chopped
2 medium red peppers chopped
1 medium garlic clove chopped
1/2 cup cilantro chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/3rd tbsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp chili powder
Water to boil lentils
Here is what I did:
Preparing the lentils:
I added lentils to a medium pot
I washed the lentils first
I put the pot with lentils on the stove and added about 5 cups of water
I brought this to a boil
The lentils should be a little cooked but not mushy
I strained the lentils and put them on the side
Dal fry:
I took a pan and put it on the stove on medium heat
I added olive oil
I let the oil heat
I added cumin seeds and garlic
I let them sizzle a bit
I added peppers
I sautéed them until they softened a bit
I added salt, turmeric, chili powder
I sautéed them for a couple of minutes
I added lentils
I sautéed until all the moisture in the lentils cooked off
I added cilantro, folded it in and turned the stove off
Enjoy with rice
